Seems mostly steady, if not lower slightly. By far it'll be the highest rated Merriwether Williams episode, at least (to my just-woke-up off the top of my head knowledge)... Although trust her to (possibly) leave poor old Fluttershy with a permanent affliction and (possibly) leave her friends with the guilt of putting her in that state...

Okay, so... it was a really good episode for the most part. I freaking loved the song (best song of season 4 thus far), and the Flutterbat was a really cool concept. With that said, though... I do take issue with the morals. I mean, Sweet Apple Acres already can't use the western orchard because of the regular fruit bats that live there, and now they've sectioned off another part of their land for the Vampire Fruit Bats, which means they're taking another loss. And since it was made pretty clear from the start that the VFB were going to wreck havoc on their entire orchard, what the hell is keeping them from spreading out of their "sanctuary" to make a mess and ruin their crops every year? Yeah, it was a "short-term" solution, but the solution they picked is going to have a limited effect, too.
Sometimes you need to tell friends no, true, but sometimes things are important enough that you need to suck it up and put aside your personal moral dalliances and just do what has to be done. And while you shouldn't force a friend to do something unsavory, sometimes a friend has to be forced to do something they would rather not do for their own good and the good of the whole. This was definitely one of those times.
So for as cool as the rest of the episode was... I gotta give it a 7.
(Changed back to 7 because I felt kinda bad. It's a good episode outside of the ending, even if Flutterpire is interesting.)

Fun episode, though the last two minutes are a real headscratcher as it doesn't seem like there's any new evidence that would somehow change AJ's mind about the bats. Fluttershy becoming a batpony was a interesting side effect of Twilight's spell, how that apparently convinces the mane cast that Fluttershy is right is beyond me.
