Although to be fair, AJ was not really wrong per se. The whole trouble started because our Twilight Princess is incredibly bad when it comes to changing a creature's eating habits.

True. It also seems like the focus was Twilight's mishap and Fluttershy turning into a bat, the show is just using Applejack as a means of making a half decent plot basis. I also take my previous post back anyway, as there have been countless times where the mane 6 have learnt from their mistakes in the past. Flutterbat was the main star of the show anyway.

watching it now ..... after the EQ youtube'd linked one had it's sound gradually be out of synch! very interesting song, very operatic in nature, and liked the part where they quickly skipped over the pinkie pie face at the end, as she was bleeding smiling

Finally saw the episode. First off, nice surprise seeing who the real writer was.
Secondly, have to say the song was the only thing that saved the first half of the episode, cause, imo, during the first half the Mane 6 minus Fluttershy were downright assholes(shame that even though MW didn't actually write the episode it STILL ended up with characters being very, VERY abrasive). Admittedly yes AJ had a good argument, only problem is Fluttershy's was a far better argument. The bats were a short term problem with a long term benefit. By far the person with the weakest argument was Dash. Oh no, no cider for a year. The horror. Sober up you damn ciderholic........
And then we got to Twilight once again f***ing things up with her magic(why did Celestia make her a princess again? It is kinda clear now that as powerful as she is, she still has little idea how to properly use her magic as it backfires more than it works), and from then on the episode was ACE. The second half of the episode was easily 10/10 quality, the first half though? 6/10, at the best and again only cause of the song. That averages out to an 8/10 from me.

Meghan tweeted that the credits were false. "Bats!" WAS really written by Merriwether Williams.

Huh, really? Well ok then. So there is now ONE MW episode I like. Well ok, I only like half of. Still, progress! She still needs to stop writing characters to be asshats. Until that happens she'll never get a 9 or 10 from me. This should be all right to post, as nothing is showing... As the proud second biggest fan of monster girls here....this was the kind of fanart I was waiting to see after seeing the episode.

but remember, TS is still learning, and just doing spells WITHOUT knowing any repercussions is gonna make for a baaaaaaad daaaaaaay really enjoyed poor fluttershy as something different ..... and that tease at the end, gives me hope for her further down the line for MY idea of her being nightmare moon! and as for the other's being against the VFBs, that was pretty clear at the beginning koda ..... and a short term gain for applejack as apples is, after all, her business! another excellent episode ..... score laters .....

Yes, but she'll have even more business later if she let the bats do their thing. More trees means more apples, more apples means more bits(and more cider so Dash can quit her bitching). Really if they just were patient the benefits far outweigh the negatives. It was only negative in the short term and only focusing on the short term is being short sighted. Just leave the bats be and everyone would have ended up happy. The bats would be fed, AJ would have more trees and money, and Dash would have more cider to drown her sorrows in.

Regarding Fluttershy's argument...
As I said, what made it very weak for me was that she first said that this is the first time she ever encountered vampire fruit bats face to face...then later, she somehow knows that they care about their families and are very loyal? Where did she pull that out from?
Yeah, I can understand the case that the others side with AJ because it does come across like Fluttershy was pulling all that out of her plot to protect them.

Ok, true the story profession done during the song was....kinda bad. Still was a nice song.

Nothing against the song, it was great. Still, they should have perhaps edited the line about the first encounter to make it not so confusing.

So what is Hasbro waiting for? Sadly I think they're content with shaking people down with the mobile game.

So what is Hasbro waiting for? Sadly I think they're content with shaking people down with the mobile game. Well yeah, but CN did the same with Adventure Time and Regular Show and still had legit games made for them. Seriously it wouldn't cost much for WayForward to make a game for 3DS.
