Spectacular, though if he doesn't do one Douchetista run during his return this will be one of the biggest disappointments in wrestling history.

I'm nowhere near as excited for this as most people seem to be. The thought of YET ANOTHER 40+ year old part-timer returning for the Wrestlemania season fills me with nothing but apathy. So who will we have? Undertaker, Triple H, Brock Lesnar, Batista, and possibly Chris Jericho? With that kind of star power, don't act surprised when Daniel Bryan is in some meaningless midcard match!
And as for the people saying that he should win the Rumble - please step back and realise what you're saying.

This is what I put in the Batista to return in at House Show thread, but I will post it in here as well as I feel it is all relevant to the conversation. I am definitely happy they are now using all of this to their advantage and using hype return packages to gain as much as they can from buyrates/ratings as possible.

I'm very happy about this but unfortunately he will return with his "Hi, me want title match" face gimmick and I predict it will be crapped over by everybody here one or 2 weeks after his return.
Please let him return with the Douchetista gimmick and have him feud with Bryan in a David vs Goliath storyline leading to Bryan going over at Mania.

I'm a tad mixed on this.
One the one hand, I've always thought that Big Dave was a better wrestler than most gave him credit for, and his douchetisa character was great.
But, as someone else said, I just don't wanna see guys get pushed aside for him.
If he manages to put people over during his run, then I'm fine with it

Douche Dave as the real 'face of the WWE'?
Come on, it writes itself.

D-Bag Batista, please. And don't give him the WWE title or anything even close to that.
Did he and Bryan ever have any matches other than that Beat the Clock challenge? That could be an interesting matchup.

He needs to feud with Cena His WrestleMania match needs to be with Cena and not for the title. I mean Cena tried to run him over with a car in his last match and threw him off the car even though he had quit. I will be extremely disappointed if he does not want revenge for that. It'd be crazy if this was the catalyst for Cena's heel turn. Like years later, everyone finally admits that Cena is an asshole. And then Nikki dumps Cena and gets with Batista(Dave did say his fantasy was to get with a Bella).

..... he's old. Like 44 years old. It is possible I guess that he reinvents himself like Goldust did. He has gone through a lot of mma training since he's last been in the ring so who knows?

He became better and better as a wrestler. I wouldn't be too worried about him stinking out the joint in the ring.

He never had the best stamina to begin with.
