What if Daniel Bryan beat Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 28 in 18 seconds instead of the other way around? What would the IWC's reaction to that have been?

Disappointment still. A lot of people were genuinely excited to see them have a match after their match was cut on the previous years Mania. Everyone knew they could have an amazing match with each other and they did at Extreme Rules, I don't think people reacted the way they did because Bryan lost, they reacted poorly because people actually wanted to see the match.

I'd have been angry because it wouldn't have fit the story at all and thus not be funny at all.

I would have been even less happy. At least Bryan losing fast made sense, even if it shouldn't have happened.

This was it for me at least, I didn't really care about who went. It was a match I was really excited for and thought would be possibly the best match on the show. And at Extreme Rules they proved why that was true. I wasn't about the results for me, I just felt I got robbed of what could have been a classic Wrestlemania match for the both of them. In the end looking back, I don't think that booking helped Sheamus in the end. I'm not sure where you can produce the minutes on that card, but a 20 minute match Sheamus won would have been much better for him than that 18 second match

These, we'd still have the core problem but they would lose the justification of a heel getting his comeuppance.

Two of the best workers in the company who can get great matches out of anyone wasted again on a nonsense match? No thanks.

If he had done that, he might well have ruined his push funny enough.
His success today is driven by popularity gained in people wanting more Bryan after that quick loss. Not completely, but it helped a ton.

I'd like to think D Bry would be a complete dick about it, referencing 18 seconds whenever he could. He'd have "18" written on his gear instead of yes or no, he'd chant "18" to the crowd, make bad jokes including 18 (would have to do a "lol, I'll pretend you said 18" joke for the smarks out there at some point), use the 18 lock as his finisher, to the point where Sheamus snaps and kicks his head off during the rematch.

That sounds really likely. ...and then he'd be in the midcard right now losing to Big E Langston

I think there'd be slightly less rage because Daniel Bryan was going over but there would still be general disappointment as either way, it's a dumb booking move.

Confusion. Sheamus' credibility would have taken a right aul Rybacking as well.
