Tomorrow, I'm heading to my first WWE live event when half of the roster shows up in Toronto. That being said, I've got some questions:
- What should I expect from a non-TV taping event?
- How's the merchandise like?
- Concessions stuff? Do they have the collector cups that CM Punk famously alluded to in his pipe-bomb promo?
- Any other stuff?
Thanks in advance

Expect 7-8 matches with mostly faces winning. You might be lucky enough to see a try out match, or some NXT stars mixed in, but for the most part it'll be the same feuds that are currently on TV. Don't expect any title changes either, just some decent wrestling without TV time restrains. Some wrestlers like to break character and have fun with the crowd too.
Merchandise will probably be a sampling for the hottest selling shirts, so don't go there expecting to find a PTP or Kofi shirt, but there will be plenty of Cena/Punk/Orton/bryan etc shirts.
Consessions will have the normal arena fast food, and yes, there should be a collector's cup, or a "program" which is really just full page photos of the roster (may or may not be 100% up to date)
As for advice, just go there and have fun. Simple as that really.

Pretty much what he said.
-No commentary team (but you might get one of the wrestlers announcing)
-Live event set has LED and minitrons, so entrances sans pyro, pre-recorded promos and a couple of commercials
-Merch is usually the upper tier stuff, but check all the stands because sometimes one stand has something another doesn't. Sometimes, a limited edition autographed pic is sold(if you're into that)
-Food-wise, just the in-house concessions. Collector cup is almost always available, get it early (or try to snag a stray one after the show).
-Lighting won't be AS good as TV but should be ok for photographing.
-Since this show won't be broadcast, the wrestlers might interact with you guys a lot more. Enjoy it!

Anything and everything.
At the last house show I went to I got to see David Otunga flex to weird music for a few minutes before his match.
And R-Truth also did a unique rap about how Kofi Kingston, his tag partner that night, should trust Little Jimmy.

Most arenas have the basic foods there, but sometimes local place have set-ups. A deli has their own place at The Bradley Center and it was damn good. Corned beef, homemade pressure cooker chips, good coleslaw. Cost Twelve bucks, but it's worth it. Also, darn good polish sausage.

I love house shows The wrestlers have more freedom and it feels a lot more fun I went to one a few months ago and enjoyed it a lot more than the Raw taping I was at a couple nights later.

Depending on the guy, a lot of the wrestlers are out there to do the match for you and go. You won't see an insane stuff and they take it really, really easy and work pretty damn light. No one wants to get hurt in front of a few people without a camera there. Though, I've seen them try in vain to keep character when a botch occurs Scooty 2 Hottie was bouncing on the bottom rope with his hands on the top. He got going too fast and missed and took a spill, bouncing off the apron and onto the floor. D-Von was in the corner with his face buried in the turnbuckle laughing his tits off, Bubba clapped for him so everyone could see, Rikishi was laughing his ass off in the ring. It's good times.

The last house show I went to was very Twitter/Tout heavy, so I hope they've backed down on that. Don't expect any crazy matches, but be aware the wrestlers are allowed to actually acknowledge fans at these shows, so have fun!

I have never had more fun at a TV taping than I have had at house shows. There's a certain "spontaneous magic" you get at houseshows because they will be a lot more "loose".
Case in Point: Was at a house show years ago (During the Evolution Era) and we started chanting for Flair. He started dancing on the apron. We start WOOing at him and he ends up grabbing a mic to WOO back. He steps into the ring, interrupting the match (between Orton and... shit, can't remember anymore). HHH gets in the ring next to Flair and eggs on the crowd to keep WOOing. Suddenly he grabs Flair's suit pants and yanks them down around his ankles. Flair ends up stepping out of his pants, WOOs in HHH's face and elbow drops his pants. Orton was standing in the corner bullshitting with the Ref and they laugh their asses off the whole time.
