I'm not really too worried about it. It's Daniel Bryan. He's like the new Kane in that he can turn shit into gold and still remain massively over. I hope that this turns out to be like Punk's New Breed "turn" and I have a good feeling it will be.

So...let's say...Bryan is tricking the Wyatts...
What would happen if they called his bluff? I'm all for stupid heels, but usually stupidity through arrogance, as opposed to being tricked themselves.
What would happen if the Wyatts came out next week, and said Bryan wasn't worthy of being in the family, and beat him down again?
Again, this could have been handled much more properly if they just mimicked the Cena/Nexus thing, except with Bryan being more "loyal" and actually earning their trust, until he snaps. At least his integrity wouldn't suffer as much, as he's just making the best out of a bad situation and looking for an opening, as opposed to "maybe I'll trick them, and have them beat me down some more...GOOD IDEA!!" nonsense.

What I wanna know is, in what way could the Wyatts have afforded to lose the feud/fail to at least get Bryan to hear them out without looking like dopes? They needed to come out on top far more than Bryan did here, and since Bryan's not a Hogan-style character he doesn't necessarily look like a choke artist. But the Wyatts don't need to come out on top. They should look like dopes. This angle has gone on longer than it should have. They shouldn't even be in Bryan's orbit.

If WWE's serious about the Wyatts, what sense does that make? Bryan's already made for life, he's easily the more "expendable" one here.

What happens when the reality that it's "too soon" sets in and they hit a brick wall creatively the same way that guys like Ryback, Cody, etc. have? They should be working their way up, not being thrown directly at the top guys almost immediately.

Won't it be amazing in, let's say, eight months or so, when the Wyatts are in Ryback's position and are jobbing out more often than not and are simply used as fodder for the faces to wail on? ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

I have no problem waiting and seeing where it'll go. But I have a logical question. So, Daniel Bryan has been cheated, held back and buried by the Authority, to the point wherein he realizes he won't ever get the opportunities he deserves and has earned. So, his plan to negate all of that is to join a smelly backwoods hillbilly cult?
I know if I'm getting unfairly mistreated or passed over by my editor, the first thing I'm doing to right that wrong and show 'em what for is to find some hellfire swamp people. That'll turn the tide. Corner office here I come.

That's what I'm getting the feeling. He feigns subservience to the Family, and pretty much goes apeshit on them to end the feud. Everyone moves on after that.

Needs more Adamle as RAW GM, Stephanie slapping Shane after they fired Adamle, Teddy Long on probation, Nexus burying Undertaker, Vince getting fired by HHH, the Brouge Kick being banned, and Triple H's concussion angle, off the top of my head.

He feigns subservience to the Family, and pretty much goes apeshit on them to end the feud. Everyone moves on after that. That's really the only potential ending to this angle that I'm hoping WON'T happen, because it puts everyone involved back at square one and means nothing actually changed. My expectation is that they use this to repackage Bryan as a more vicious, unhinged figure instead of the goofy guy who plays to the crowd with YES! and NO! chants, only the monster Bray's unleashed doesn't actually have any loyalty to him, so after a couple months Bryan decides he's learned everything he can from them and beats the crap out of the Wyatts, only it's a pyrrhic victory because Bray's still succeeded in remaking Bryan in his image. They can easily bring all that to a climax at the Elimination Chamber, then have the toughened-up Bryan move back on to bringing down the machine.

They needed to come out on top far more than Bryan did here, and since Bryan's not a Hogan-style character he doesn't necessarily look like a choke artist. I'm not angry, more confused and disappointed. I mean, how hard would it be to tease Bryan vs. Wyatt, one on one, over the next couple weeks of TV and then [have] Bryan finally gets his hands on him, without the interference of Harper and Rowan, after winning some sort of match with a BS stipulation made by Triple H or Stephanie or Kane or Maddox [say, the gauntlet match we saw tonight]. So you maybe do a cage match at the Royal Rumble with Bryan and Wyatt. Bryan beats Wyatt and then wins the Rumble despite taking a serious asskicking earlier in the night (putting over the fact that Wyatt is no slouch in the ring). Bryan goes on to Wrestlemania, wins the WWE Heavyweight Title, and finally gets to hold it for more than 24 hours, proving the Authority wrong by beating Randy Orton or whoever the champion might be at the time. In the meantime, the Wyatts move on to feuding with a midcard face team (the Rhodes maybe?). There's a difference between complex storylines and convoluted ones. On Lost, Jack Shephard teaming up with the Others so that he can later take them out all at once is complex, involving a lot of flashbacks to explain how Jack's plan is achieved. Daniel Bryan, whether or not he has earnestly joined the Wyatts or is planning on double-crossing them at a later date, feels really convoluted. As someone else said in this thread, the angle with the Wyatts should have happened earlier, that way Bryan would be free to focus on winning the Rumble. Not to say that he can't now, but it'll make for some clunky TV between now and then, which won't be fun. Again, Hogan got his HELL NO, Austin sacked McMahon in the balls, Cena constantly gave the Nexus grief, but Bryan basically rolled over and died for the Wyatts and by proxy for the Authority. It's not really a hero-making moment while the fans were going bananas for him NOT to join them. Will they be loud and enthusiastic a month from now? Who knows. I'm skeptical. And that's why I made the Ahmed Johnson image macro. Yeah, he was never over the way Bryan was, but after he joined the Nation, to which they promptly kicked his ass after he joined, he couldn't recover (notwithstanding other issues Johnson had during his WWF run).

![](http://i.imgur.com/kZ71yB2.jpg) Made a new one with proper grammar ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Explanation on some new ones. Fandango wasn't well received by some in the early going but he's a solid mid-card guy now. Henry turning heel and getting another monster push certainly will be a wait and see how it turns how. The Bo Dallas one is kinda my own take. People were pissed he took Biggie's belt but his heel run has been very effective IMO. Jerishow, I remember people being disappointed that Jericho picked Show and not some youngster but it worked out well. The Fella vs Show feud was not something people were really excited for but the feud and matches were pretty good. My explanations kinda show the problem with finding images for this picture. I don't actually know what was truly hated by the hivemind and what was actually just something a few dislike. I was going to put in Big Johnny getting the GM job but not everybody liked his run. I was thinking of something odd like Eddie's heel turn on Rey but I have no idea what the hivemind felt towards it. Basically it's hard to go back in time to find things people hated but eventually turn it out because hindsight makes us look at things more fondly. I felt the Kane/Lita story-line was a good example for wait and see working out but I'm not sure if others will agree on that. It's much easier to find the other side for that reason.
