No.
The best authority figure has been the Laptop GM. The personality or character to get in the way of actual wrestling. Send email. Make matches. No drama or bs. Plus it gave us Edge attacking a macbook on live tv.
They just needed someone else to read his announcements.

Loved it. Him being Bill Lumbergh was a refreshing twist to the played out Evil Authority Figure. Then they made him into a generic evil authority figure. Plus him and Otunga were good together Major ditto. I liked him more than I disliked him: Liked him as a refreshingly Bill Lumberghian take on the "horrible boss," then I tired of him as generic evil GM #304, then loved him again as Mr. People Power in the Colonel Sanders suit. All in all, Laurinaitis + People Power > The Corporation Authority, any day of the week.

I hate myself for enjoying it but I did. People Power, the scooter, it was ridiculous and hilarious for all the wrong reasons.

Yes because before they f***ed him over he wasn't just a generic heel meglomaniac. His gimmick was to be an incompetent sycophant, I liked that.

I liked it at first when he was a dorky, well-meaning corporate drone, but when he just morphed into Vince post-Mania it fell apart for me.

I only enjoyed his Teddy Long dance and 'I'm not your problem Miz. Because I'm not Little Jimmy. I'm BIG JOHNNY '

Yeah, I liked him. More often than not he got a chuckle out of me. I so wanted "The Ace Team" to be a real thing.

On a weekly basis? No. However, I do think he could've been a great Jack Tunney-like figure. Just show up every once in awhile to make a big announcement and leave. Doesn't get in the way and doesn't overshadow anyone. But to be fair, I haven't enjoyed the concept of GMs in... Never.

Not even a little bit. His role of heel authoirty figutre #182 got boring really, really fast Yes sir. That's my answer. When he first showed up as a bumbling, Bill Lumberg-type corporate middle management suck-up I found him amusing....once they tried to make him into Diet Vince and do "Heel Authority Figure vs. Top Face Part 137" he wore out his welcome VERY quickly.

He was good in bits and pieces and gave David Otunga and his travel mug plenty of TV time.
I kinda miss the guy, but not enough to wish he'd come back to another weekly role.

I thought him being cast as an inept middle manager with too much power for him to handle was brilliant, and was a refreshing and modern take on the outdated heel authority figure concept that has been stretched thin since the Monday Night Wars. Anyone can relate to having incompetent and undeserving people in positions of power. The fact that he was wooden and unconvincing in his role only served to highlight this concept even more.
However, it seemed like somewhere around Wrestlemania or so, it seemed like they started lazily booking him to be too competent, and he became just another heel authority figure. And if there's one thing that's worse than a heel GM, it's a heel GM that can't act.

I was probably one of Big Johnny's biggest boosters here. he was a different kind of evil authority figure, at least at the beginning.
