The thing I liked about this weeks Raw was that they actually got a few characters over a bit and showed off their personality. Usually this doesn't happen because they try and shoehorn everyone in.
Doing a house show the same night is great as it makes Raw less "stacked".
They should do it every week, alternating talent between the two of them as they see fit.
That way if there's nothing for someone on the card they can let them do the house show without trying to squeeze them on Raw.
this stops viewers getting burned out on certain talent. Plus WWE like progressing their storylines slowly nowadays and seem to want to only focus on one or two angles a week.
WWE have enough main eventers now they can afford to sacrifice 2 of them every week to headline a house show. It's extra revenue for them.
Hell the midcarders who work the house show can be given priority booking on Smackdown that week. This means everyone gets TV without over exposure.
It seems to me this would have all the advantages of the brand split without the disadvantages.

I wish it worked that way, but sadly it doesn't. It seems like even when WWE is short handed, they just use the same usual suspects with little change. They just stretch out the TV time of people who were being featured anyway. People pull double or even triple duty at tapings sometimes.
For example, I love Daniel Bryan, and I love that he's a workhorse that can put on great matches. But I loathe the fact that whenever a show seems "short handed", WWE takes advantage of this by giving him multiple long matches just to kill time. To me that's no different from over reliance on Cena. I hate that they're misappopriating Bryan's talents to undercut others.

I went to a Smackdown house show the same night as Raw but that was during the brand split.
Worth missing Raw if only to watch people chant "you suck" at Heyman and then for him to point to a guy in the crowd and say "Yeah, well I learned from his father."

I probably would've been pissed off like a mark if I saw the main event angle live on Raw instead of enjoying myself at the Toronto house show last night.

It's a different story now that there's 3-hour Raws. If Raw were only an hour or even 2 hours, it might be a nice switch.

I don't think they should change it up.
Anytime there's a RAW, have a house show that features John Cena, Randy Orton, HHH, and Stephanie.
