Essentially, so long as Spike keeps em around, they'll be alive. More so than anything they themselves can do, it's the network that'll determine their lifespan. If Spike went another direction tomorrow, that'd be all she wrote.

It's possible. With no home base and the potential for Spike to drop them in favour of Smackdown, it's not looking good.
On the other hand, with the potential of Spike dropping them, it could lead to a few things:
-They're cheaper, so an investor with TV contacts picks them up for cheap.
-WWE buys them out and they go on the network.
Personally, I feel WWE should buy them. The talent they grab can be instant stars for the network and a new company will likely spring up in its place.

Why would WWE not just hire the talent directly and not bother with buying TNA?

Here's what TNA needs to do if it stays on Spike TV
They maybe starting to do this but stop thinking they're as big as WWE and think in terms of what ECW used to be in terms of size of the company and rent out large high school gyms and small arenas like 1,000 to 2,000 seat ones, if all those shows are sell outs then move up to 2500 to 4000 seat arenas kind of like taking the proper steps to become a bigger company rather than try to jump up to being a big dog with little bark
Second of all they may have to reduce their production values to what they were in 2005 and that will save them alot of money
third is they need to cut people that are asking for too much money which is what they seem to be doing by getting rid of Hogan, Bischoff, and alot of the back stage people. Cut the pay of its performers which they also seem to be doing which is why AJ Styles is most likely not going to be with TNA past Thursdays show and part 3 will bring more money to allocate to possible growth of TNA and maybe build new stars from within and be a true alternative

All signs point to to yes, but it could indeed be salvaged. The rumors of Corgan possibly purchasing it may have been the best possible thing for TNA. Even if it wasn't Corgan though at this rate a new owner with capital and/or a track record of success in wrestling may be the best thing for the company.
At any rate I really hope TNA doesn't go under. No matter how many things the company may have wrong with it at this point if TNA folds there may not be a number 2 of this size again in the US. Just like how when WCW closed a lot of people though a competitor like the XWF would come along and fill the void left by WCW and it never happened. Even though TNA would leave a smaller void to fill I'm not convinced that even the major indies like ROH, CZW, PWG, etc. would really have the resources to fill it or that anyone with the resources would have the desire/capability of filling it.

They appear to be in a slow, sad death spiral. I hope I'm wrong, because I enjoy the TNA thread on Thursday nights.

Video Library would also come in handy for future Jeff Hardy, RVD, Sting, Kurt Angle, 3-D, and Christian DVDs, along with the standard "Best ofs" and the usual "Rise and Fall" DVD.

I'm usually a pessimist, but I think it survives. Even if Spike has interest in Smackdown, that doesn't mean WWE and Universal/Syfy are going to let that happen. They'll probably find a place to tape Impact and Spike will keep funding it. TNA somehow always finds a way to survive. Maybe they've used up their last live, maybe not. I hope not.

TNA is like the almighty cockroach. No matter how many times you stomp on it, spray it with pesticide, and nuke the sumbitch; it finds a way to survive. Losing Spike would be a giant KO punch but Panda Energy deciding to pull the plug and liquidate the assets is the real death blow.

Smackdown moving to Spike isn't happening. What does USA and Syfy have in common? They are both subsidiaries of NBC/GE. Why would the WWE move one of their shows to a non-in-house cable station who is a direct competitor to their parent company?

I'm not into TNA at the moment but they're obviously in recovery mode, and they always recover, so even though this is the millionth time this question has been asked, the answer remains the same. No, they're not dying.

Why would the WWE move one of their shows to a non-in-house cable station who is a direct competitor to their parent company? They done it in the past with Smackdown being on the CW and MyNetwork while Raw being on Spike. WWE will move their shows to the highest bidder with the best perks and this is a contract negotiation year.

Spike is looking at bringing Smackdown on the air as a lead-in to Bellator. If that happens, the WWE would probably insist that TNA gets the boot. Will Dixie Carter show up on Raw as new commentator?
