For the first time in 2014, it is Monday. And that means ONLY one thing... wait, nope, that just finished for the season. It is RAW, and it is LIVE from the Spiral Staircase City, Baltimore. The Royal Rumble is just under three weeks away, but you'd almost be forgiven for forgetting that, with the eyes of the universe on one thing.
In a shocker to close out 2013, Daniel Bryan finally ran out of fight after a gruelling gauntlet match, and relented into joining Bray Wyatt and his Wyatt Family. To say that this is one of the most debated story developments in recent times is an understatement. In a lapse of mental discipline, has Bryan gone in too deep this time? Or has he seen Wyatt's light? Tonight, we should finally start getting some answers from The Eater Of Worlds in regards to his newest son.
It's Old School night again on RAW, and that usually means a few things. Retro set, retro theme and appearances from the usual gang of legends. According to various sources, these are the people who are reported to appear at the time this thread went to press...
"Nature Boy" Ric Flair
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper
Bob Backlund
"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
Ron Simmons
Booker T
The New Age Outlaws
Diamond Dallas Page
Rikishi
Scotty 2 Hotty
Irwin R. Schyster
Who else will show up tonight?
Last week, somewhat forgotten in the midst of the ending, Brock Lesnar returned to WWE for his latest demolition run through the company, starting with Mark Henry. He also staked his claim for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which means that Royal Rumble opponents Randy Orton and John Cena now have a beastly bullseye on their backs. According to Paul Heyman, Lesnar will be appearing tonight to do something "old school". Whatever that may be, we'll just have to watch and find out.
In a rare case of a bout being announced ahead of broadcast, CM Punk will take on The Shield's enforcer Roman Reigns in one-on-one competition. Punk is riding a wave of momentum having defeated both Seth Rollins and United States Champion Dean Ambrose in previous bouts, as well victories in tag team and handicap bouts over The Hounds Of Justice, which has led to cracks starting to creep in the unity of the group. Will Reigns set things straight? Or will Punk just make things worse for them?
Both Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston and Tag Team Champions The Rhodes Brothers had successful defenses of their championship last week. Will they seek out new challengers? Or throw their metaphorical hats in for the Royal Rumble match?
Divas Champion AJ Lee is still having issues with those Total Divas, but is there any of them left that can prove to be her next challenger?
All that, and the Wheel Of Aggression continues to gather dust, TONIGHT on RAW, RIGHT HERE in the legendary FAN Forums Weekly RAW Thread!
