I don't see the problem when referring to food with moist. A woman's nether regions though? Yeah, that's actually a bit creepy. I could see why women would have a problem with that.
But honestly I didn't know this was even a thing until VH1's Undatable List special aired a few years ago.

Yup, all females hate the word moist. Even if you don't associate it with their nether-regions, I think their mind automatically does and it makes them cringe.
One of my comic buddies has a whole story about this word. The best part was when he met this girl who was I think Portuguese or something. He asked her if the word "moist" offended her, and it didn't because she didn't know what it meant. So he had one of her friends translate it, and once she did, she got offended.
So yeah, "moist" can make a woman cringe in any language.
