Further proof that any physical pain inflicted on paparazzi is entirely deserved. Seriously, I'm pretty sure you could pass it as self-defense in court. The more misery they can exploit, the better. And when they can't exploit any, they'll create some by making up stories no matter how much they can hurt actual people.
I mean for f***'s sake, when you see her getting pulled under. Maybe stop being one of the lowest scum of the Earth for one second and look for help instead of taking pictures of someone dying before your eyes so you can sell them to some rag unworthy of being turned into toilet paper like you're working for some kind of snuff film maker?

I bet at least one of them decided her dying right then and there would make the photos more valuable, hence the indifference about helping.

What vultures. The more legal protection they lose for this kind of behavior, the better.

I don't think they were stood as close as you think they were, it's not like they would be stood on the edge of the sea taking photos while it happened, usually they're quite a distance away using high powered lenses to get photos like these.
I'm not excusing them from being leaches taunting/goading/stalking celebs, but I don't think they would have been able to do much in this case.

Even if they're not going to pull a David Hasselhoff and go in after her, continuing to take photos of a young woman gasping and screaming for help as she's afraid she's about to drown for cash is still reprehensible and disgusting. That isn't "shades of grey." Anyone doing that is flat out vile.

As was said, there's no way they didn't think "I've got the exclusive on this!"
Glad Anne's ok.
When she's fully recovered, I'd be happy to give her follow-up mouth to mouth. Just in case.

There's a bitchy writer for the Daily Mail that tore into a member of One Direction for having the nerve to want papz to leave him alone (yes, it's one of THOSE newspapers). Wonder how she'll spin this one.

I don't particularly like Anne Hathaway, but I am glad she's doing to be alright. Drowning would be a terrible way to go.

The driver was drunk BUT he was also speeding to get away from them. If they hadn't been following her and he'd have been going at a normal speed, there's a very good chance they would have arrived home fine. The Paparazzi were taking pictures of her at the crash scene too.

Maybe, and I'll grant you they were speeding to get away, and I'm not denying the photogs were scum; I just don't know that we can safely speculate that a drunk driver wouldn't have crashed anyway. Maybe, maybe not.

I don't think the photos ever got published in the UK or America, but they did make their way to an Italian magazine, IIRC.
