TMZ reports that if Arnold Schwarzenegger finalizes his divorce to Maria Shiver, he'll have to pay her a lot of money. She filed for divorce in July 2011 after she found out Schwarzenegger had been having sex with the maid for years and even produced a son from the infidelity.

There's no prenuptual agreement under California law, so a divorce means that they would split their assets right down the middle. There's no issue of custody as there is only one minor child. The reason the divorce has dragged on so long because Schwarzenegger doesn't want to write her a check for $200 million. Their net worth is around $400 million so Shriver would get half of that.

Another reason is that Schwarzenegger is getting serious with his girlfriend, physical therapist Heather Milligan. If he gets divorced, there will be pressure to propose and he's not willing to do that right now.

Its a little misleading the combined assets are 400 million that's not all Arnie's money don't forget Maria is a Kennedy and had a network news job for awhile. I'm pretty sure a decent chunk of that 400 is already hers, most is Arnie's but it wont be a full 200 mil coming from Arnie

Right? What a weird way to phrase it... that he's writing her a check for 200 million, as if he automatically owns all their assets and she automatically has nothing, unless he writes her a check.

I never understand why these guys even get married to be honest. I would just have 5 women on each side and replace the ones that turn 26. It would only hurt my box office if I was a douche about it. So I would just never talk about it.
