In another thread, somebody said that Johnny Kashmere is gay, which I didn't know.
It got me wondering, who was/is the first openly gay wrestler? Pat Patterson? Kanyon? Orlando Jordan? Is AR Fox gay or did he just do the porn?
Jordan and Kanyon both claimed that they received abuse as a result of their sexuality (although in Jordan's case, it was apparently a breach of backstage etiquette) so do homophobic attitudes still prevail in the locker room? Patterson being gay has been known for years, yet he was a very powerful figure in the WWF which makes me wonder if it was actually such a stigma.
Another side question, is there any reason that WWE haven't acknowledged (to the best of my knowledge) Darren Young being homosexual on tv? It seems like something they would have done.

I think Kanyon and Jordan weren't/aren't actually gay but bisexual.
Terry Garvin was also openly homosexual.
As for Darren Young, well look at it this way, they haven't acknowledged on WWE TV that Titus O'Neil is heterosexual. Why? Because with the character he's portraying and the angles he's currently apart of, his sexuality doesn't really matter.

Orlando Jordan is bi sexual. He recently married a woman in New Zealand.
Kanyon claims he was gay but also says he had sex with women in an attempt to cover it up. However, if he were really gay he probably couldn't get aroused for a woman much like I as a straight man couldn't get aroused for another man so I imagine he's bi as well.
Cheerleader Melissa is allegedly a lesbian and it hasn't seem to have effected her career. Sylvain Grenier is bi as well.
It's harder to find openly gay guys but obviously Patterson is the most high profile one.

As for being openly gay, did Patterson ever come out, or is it still a terribly kept secret, as it was for years? Jonathan Coachman has said that WWE were always pretty supportive of bi/gay wrestlers, and alluded to, though did not really elaborate, to there being others, outside of publicly known ones. Cena has been supportive of Darren Young, and has said that, to the boys, there is nothing weird sharing a locker room with them, because they act professionally about it, and said it'd be the same if a guy was sharing a locker room with women. If they were to act unprofessionally, then it becomes an issue, but that respectful boundaries are maintained. |

Our bodies react to physicality on their own without thought for what we prefer, hence why every person who gets support after rape is told "it doesn't matter if you feel something, or you had a physical response in your own genitalia, that's just the machine part of your body reacting to the situation around you." Just a common misconception a lot of straight folk have. But it has led to amusing responses on shows/research when people are told to touch their crotches whilst watching gay porn, some people freak out so easily if they get an erection around that stuff. |

Not necessarily "do you like cock". But people can find some members of the same sex attractive, but find a much greater percentage of the opposite sex attractive, or vice versa. It's not straight up you like all the penises, all the vaginas, or every set of human genitalia on the plenet. |

When I was a fan of my local independent scene there were rumors that McKay was bisexual. To my knowledge though she's engaged to some obscure indy guy here in Australia so who knows if the rumor was true or not. |
