Wahlberg can do a couple of things pretty well in terms of the types of characters he plays, but he's not exactly a great actor. But still, he can play more than 1 type of character and he can do them well. That alone is saying a lot in and of itself...

He was absolutely brilliant in The Happening.

I don't know if I can agree with this. Yes, he's been in some good movies, but is he a good actor? MAX F***ING PAYNE. That should really be all I need to say. ...he was good in The Departed, I'll admit. And honestly, I haven't seen a lot of movies with Marky Mark. But I'll never call him a good actor because of Max Payne. Oh, a bad director can ruin a good actor. As can the wrong part. At this juncture, Marky's had more good performances than bad. His comedy work should solidify his status as a good actor. He's mesmerizing in The Other Guys. This is what I wish Leonardo Dicaprio would do. I don't think he's a bad actor; I just wouldn't mind if he tried comedy for once. As for Mark Wahlberg and Max Payne, I wouldn't base his talent on one film when he's made so many others. And another thing; there's a third Wahlberg brother. Forget what he does. He's either working behind the scenes, or he's a fireman.

I still think of him as a rapper more than an actor. I liked him in the Fighter but can't think of anything else I've seen him in besides Fear, which I didn't like him in.

When the Wahlberg's parents split I think and Donnie bought his mom a house in the town I grew up in. My sister became friends with his brother Paul, who owns a couple of local restaurants and is about to have his own reality show. I actually played basketball at their house a couple of times and even against Mark, he had already had this song out so it was intimidating. Not a bad basketball player. I thought he was kind of a dick, but he was a like 20 and I was 14 and I thought he was probably a hardcore gangster.
