Finally watched it on DVD via Netflix this weekend. Pretty good documentary. I thought it'd be more about each villain getting a spotlight for a couple minutes, but instead they did the whole breaking down of the psychology of it all, with a couple shrinks (who were comic fans and knew what they were talking about) commenting, as well as past/present creators and actors and misc. people (CM Punk!). They tried to cover as many as they could, with a few getting a lot of attention (Joker, Lex, Harley kinda surprisingly), some getting a few comments more than I would've thought (Deadshot, Suicide Squad and the Flash's Rogues notably), some getting fewer (Darkseid - I really thought they could've broken him down a lot more than they did), and many others getting passing reference. Christopher Lee narrated, which was weird because he definitely sounds a lot older than he had when he had that resurgence with the prequels and Lord of the Rings, but then you remembered he's Christopher Lee so it was friggin' awesome. The one thing I noticed that was off about the entire special, though, was that you didn't hear one certain voice actor doing his big-name villain. They showed a few other versions of that villain, but not......"the one." ........until the very end, as the special fades to black......and we get that laugh..... So it ends well.

Yeah I really enjoyed it. It's pretty short, but comprehensive for the time alloted. All in all a good watch.

It was just shy of 1 hour 40 mins, I think, which seemed pretty long for what I could guess would be considered a niche documentary. Even history of comics docs tend to go 2 hours. They certainly jammed a lot in, though, and it seemed to last much longer than 1:40 for me.

I really want to see this one, I'll probably queue it up soon. I've never been a big comics reader, but I've always said I wound up preferring DC to Marvel stuff largely based on the villains...well, that, and growing up watching stuff like Batman TAS and Justice League.

I'll admit it was chock full of good stuff. Also random as hell CM Punk appearance.

Er, do they mention my girl Giganta ever? I think you kinda see her in a Wonder Woman montage at one point (after they talk about the Cheetah - she and First Born are the only 2 foes of hers they really mention).
