Friend: Hey wanna come over to play video games later? Me: Well I was going to Mayday's (a comedy open mic) think you'd want to come? Eric: Ehhhh Me: Well you don't have class and you just basically told me you don't have plans so.... Eric: What time? Me: Around 7ish Eric: I'm don't think I'm coming. I don't like you trying to guilt me into this.
WTF? I mean I was kind of but this is literally the best friend I have and the discourse has me baffled. He used to say, "I always have class Monday night I'll make it for sure when I don't."
So essentially he just doesn't want to...which fine. He comes to my club shows almost every time so I wouldn't be mad, but it's weird that A. He was just lying before about just not wanting to come and B. Way to get weird and lay a guilt trip of your own out of nowhere 23 year old male best pal.
I'm just venting. No one has to respond if you don't want lol.

On the one hand, he seems really defensive, like there's a bit of social anxiety there.
On the other and, it sounds like his plan is to play video games, with or without you.

I guess my inside info is that we did that 3 times last week so I thought maybe he'd wanna do something else. I'm over thinking it too but it weirdly bothered me more than it would. It seemed out of nowhere.
