So...yeah, remove content from the WWE Network? Um...whatever happened to "over the top"?

Um...whatever happened to "over the top"? They were referring to the announcement itself, them announcing it was over the top.

Did anyone seriously expect the Network to be the entire library up at launch? Or at any point?
It's pretty much Netflix.

Is Daniel Bryan turning so quickly really a big issue for people?

I'm sad about the Indy guys but I need Sting to happen. It'll totally redeem themselves

I expected them to basically slowly but surely put the library up and leave it up over time and never/rarely take anything down. Its different from Netflix because WWE owns all their own content, while Netflix has to deal with licensees. Far as I can tell Netflix only takes things down when they have to. Someone in another thread pointed out that HBO owns all their own content and still rotates things on their similar service, but I feel like thats different because there's much less content available and you're much more likely to watch every single HBO original series eventually then you are to actually blow through the entire WWE tape library (which I imagine would be nigh impossible to do in a lifetime at this point). So its different from HBOGo too.

If Sting somehow abandons ship and ends up in the WWE I can only hope that they don't try to have that Sting/Taker match 15-20 years too late. Oh don't worry, they'll never book that. Instead, Sting will tap out to an aggressive armbar from Alberto del Rio.

I thought the same thing with the Pillman/Ryback comparison. I know I know. Pillman has THE WORKRATEZ and blah blah blah. Yeah and Ryback has THE L00K and blah blah blah

Time is running out to watch Wrestlemania X-7. Now's your last chance to enjoy the spectacle, the excitement. Stone Cold Steve Austin takes on The Rock in their legendary no disqualification match ("I need to beat you, Rock, more than anything in the world", "You are going to get THE ABSOLUTE BEST of THE ROCK at Wrestlemania"). The greatest competitor in WWE history ("I AM THE GAME!") squared off against The Undertaker for the first time on the grandest stage of them all! After April this beloved classic will no longer be available anywhere. Once it's gone, it's gone. Hurry, and catch Wrestlemania X-7 before it goes back into the WWE vault.

I know the source is trustworthy and all that, but this comes off too much like "Go Shiosaki is too Asian" for me to take seriously.

Anyone who expected WWE to upload their entire 100,000 hours+ of content is a crazy person.

Why did you expect that. WWE never set that expectation. I watched the whole presentation from start to finish and its the expectation that it built in me. That sucks, man. I watched that whole presentation as well and it got me all hyped up and excited, but I never really thought that they'd put everything up. I felt that the underlying notion was that it would be heavily curated and kind of netflixy (even in that the idea that it would often leave a lot to be desired.)

Anyone who expected WWE to upload their entire 100,000 hours+ of content is a crazy person. Again, obviously I didn't expect that. I didnt expect the entire library to be up at once ever. I did sort of expect that anything they did put up would stay there. I guess I didn't really think about the reality of that expectation, but I thought stuff like every episode of RAW and Smackdown or every episode of Nitro would be possible. :/ I'm a little disappointed now that I realize that expectation was a little bit high. ETA: Possible EVENTUALLY, not immediately available.

I have a terrible habit of building up unrealistic expectations of things like this and its always in the realm of things being a way bigger scope than is actually possible lmao

Not signing Ricochet was one stupid move in my opinion. Yes, Ricochet can and does do a lot of what Adrian Nevelle does, but he's got personality in spades to go with it. I am disappoint. >.>

I know the source is trustworthy and all that, but this comes off too much like "Go Shiosaki is too Asian" for me to take seriously. I believe it. The WWE's had the mentality that smaller wrestlers can't be big draws for years, so it's not too surprising so see Ricochet not get a developmental deal. They'd rather bring in someone with no wrestling experience because they have a nice body and/or come from a wrestling family, than someone that's smaller but can go in the ring.

It makes sense that they wouldn't put everything up, seeing as people would watch what they wanted and then cancel their subscription. You can't kill the golden goose right away.
