It certainly does. I'm choosing to believe that Batista part is a mere nod to a meme, it's just so absurd and gossipy to be taken at face value. I've heard for months that WWE ain't into indy guys. The year is still quite young. If more guys get turned down as the year rolls on, I'll definitely be inclined to believe it. Not yet, though. I don't know what to believe when it comes to guys who've worked the indies. NXT is littered with former indie workers, & there's quite a few on the main roster too. Personally, I think they'll hire anyone they feel will be able to work in their system, & make them money. However, that doesn't fit into the stereotypical "IWC smark" narrative though, since according to that segment of the fan base, WWE/Vince hates wrestling. Eh, whatever. Personally, I've been taking all of the recent, "WWE only wants giant guys!" less as a return to the Snitsky and Heidenreich days (well, okay, the main event scene's there, just without the big man fetish), and more as a thing where WWE has tons of flippy guys, they don't see themselves as needing anymore at this point, and Big Show and Khali are old as hell with no real alternatives on hand. Which is perfectly reasonable to me.

Every roster needs diversity, and I think both NXT & the main roster are quite diverse right now.

eh, for some reason I dont see someone like Kurt Angle being happy with being 'just a trainer' well that's an idea he's just going to have to get used to. he can't go forever and WWE isn't going to want a Misawa mishap on their hands. I definitely hear ya there, Kurt could offer a lot to young wrestlers.
