It just hit me: what if Daniel Bryan was in the Royal Rumble...and was last eliminated by Batista. Could you IMAGINE that crowd reaction? That's the thing, the crowd reaction to him not being in the rumble probably isn't as bad as if he were and eliminated. So I guess if he wasn't going to win, it's best to keep him out altogether.

Gonna post this in here and re-post it in the Rumble thread: To people saying that they are done with this company, by all means, take a break. Start reading on Monday nights, take up a new hobby, discover something about yourself. Just get away from the product for a few months. I promise you this shit is not worth getting stressed over. It may seem hard if you watch wrestling all the time but it can be done. Trust me, when/if you start watching a few months from now, you'll feel a lot better. I'm moving house on Tuesday for six months, house sitting for my sister. There is no satellite or cable TV, and what happened tonight was to be the deciding factor as to whether I get hooked up or not. Needless to say, I will not now be getting cable/satellite and will not have the option to watch.

I can perfectly understand those that are taking breaks or dumping WWE all together.
But I'm definitely tuning in tomorrow. Hell, I might even leave work early if I'm allowed.
This whole situation is just so surreal. Like, a part of me just can't comprehend what happened tonight.

Pretty much what my brother was saying the entire night. I dunno, I think I feel like my sentiment (as with a lot of fans) is that we WANT to enjoy WWE, and there are MANY guys on the roster we want to enjoy, but WWE is too boneheaded to realize it. I've watched a lot less than I used to, that's for sure. I guess that's my way of quitting.

I am upset that Bryan got the short end of the stick and a 45 year old blown up has been was insultingly given the top spot on the 30th Wrestlemania.
But I do not hate the WWE and I certainly do not feel a boycott of the very company Daniel Bryan works for is going to exactly motivate the WWE to do anything. As they will just paint these types of fans as indy smark jerks and not real WWE fans and will think Bryan is attracting the "wrong" type of fan. Rather then seeing the situation as it is: people that are just fed up with their intelligences being insulted.
Its a hard thing to fix. They just had a sold out arena absolutely HATE their product during one of the biggest shows of the year. If they don't make a change after something like that, then they probably are too proud to ever change.

I would sit here and say, "Hey, I'm not watching this garbage anymore!" But no matter how much they screw these things over there are other wrestler's I enjoy watching on the show.
Ziggler in the Rumble tonight had me marking out a little - I forgot he existed tbh.
The Shield are still exciting for me, especially with tonight's developments.
And... Well, actually that's pretty much it. So until Ziggler becomes Zack Ryder 2.0 and The Shield break up goes tits up, I'll keep watching.

All Bryan discussion needs to be in the allocated thread.
The reasons being are stated in the first post.
Don't make what is going to be a tough few days even harder for the mods.

I look at like this. The WWE has no excuse for this. That was not an aberration. These crowds are telling you exactly what they want. They are making it as clear as they can. They've been doing it for almost two years. And yet in spite of their obvious and very clear demands, this company is being stubborn. Plain and simple. And here is Batista. A man who hasn't even wrestled a single match since 2010, just casually shows up the week before the Royal Rumble, enters at 27 and wins the battle royal in about 12 minutes and is now MAIN EVENTING their biggest PPV of the year. It's mind boggling how short-sighted and downright antagonizing this company can sometimes be to their own fans. The crowd shit on Orton and Cena tonight. The sad thing is that I actually feel sympathetic for them. They're doing what is asked of them by the people at the top. What are they supposed to do? I don't know if this is a watershed moment for this company. That crowd reacted in a way I hadn't seen before. They were venomous towards these wrestlers, who really didn't deserve the scorn. The only way you're get this company to feel your scorn is by not paying to watch the WWE. Not going to their live events. Not buying their merchandise. Not ordering the WWE Network. Because quite honestly, why would Vince or anyone else care that the fans are booing? You already paid for your ticket. You already bought the PPV. They're clearly banking on their fans forgiving and forgetting the next time they're in town. Or in four weeks at Elimination Chamber when they toss you a bone like putting Bryan in the chamber match for the title. But I don't know why the WWE does this to their fans. It's really peculiar. Batista drew number 28, which makes it worse.

I reserve my anger. They've changed the ME at a WM before, so it's not like they wont do it again.

As annoyed as I am with tonight, I wont stop watching because there are guys I enjoy watching on the show. I'm a fan of these people and if I stopped watching, then I'm basically not seeing those people again. I'm not good with break ups!

Not only that, but the two biggest sports draws the past ten years have been Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, two smaller guys. They've been fighting other guys in their weight class. Pacquiao won't be fighting one of the Klitchkos because he doesn't want to die. On the notion that there is an entertainment aspect involved in pro-wrestling would it be ridiculous to see Tom Cruise beat the shit out of Dolph Lundgren and save the day in a movie?

Eh.
It sucks that Daniel Bryan wasn't in the Rumble (honestly, that concussion was seriously unlucky for him and he probably would've been in if it weren't for that), and it's awful that the WWE's blatantly pushing Batista this hard as SOON as he gets back (Remember, our next two Championship Matches are Orton vs. Lesnar (in the chamber but w/e) and Orton vs. Batista), but it's not really worth getting this bent out of shape over. If Wrestling's making you this angry, then yeah. Time for a break, see you in the summer when the WWE reaches it's best.
If anything, it shows that the future's going to be bright. Hell, I just sat here and had the realization that yeah, that Rumble from a technical standpoint was terrible. JBL had a comedy spot, Nash didn't really do anything, but at the same time, I'm still hyped up. Bray and Bryan tore the house down. Brock looked beastly. And Jesus Christ, they showed that Roman Reigns is getting a rocket strapped to him after 'Mania's over with, AND outclassed Batista in their one on one. That Cesaro swing. Kofi jumping to the ring. Hell, I was even popping a little for the bit of Swagger vs. Rusev we got.
The tunnel's dim as hell right now. The WWE made a stupid stupid move by not having Bryan in. Cena and Orton seem to be on autopilot right now (Orton vs. Batista and Cena vs. Wyatt are most likely going to bomb), and hell, the one thing everyone DID mark out for tonight, I hated (the NAO winning over the Rhodes). But, there IS light at the end of the tunnel. I said it after Bryan lost to Orton, and after he joined the Wyatt Family. Daniel Bryan WILL survive this. He'll do fine. There IS light at the end of this extremely dark tunnel.
Plus if you want some hope? Batista's as sturdy as a porcelain doll. So, there you go.

No secret that I think Daniel Bryan is overrated and unentertaining. I personally feel the choice of Batista (Who is now a MOVIE STAR with cross over appeal) is a lot better than having 5'9 200 pound Daniel Bryan in the main event of Wrestlemania 30 Everyone saying they're done with the company will be back in time for Wrestlemania and the WWE knows this. As someone who hasn't watched WWE full time since 2006 I personally would like to congratulate them on a good show and a smart booking decision. I will watch Wrestlemania also. Kudos WWE. Kudos. EDIT: Also, if that Twitter above is indeed Daniel Bryans what an unprofessional guy. He shouldn't even talk about those chants. The cross-over appeal doesn't really exist yet as his one notable movie isn't even out. I also think you hype up crossover appeal a bit much. The truth of the matter is that the vast majority of people who aren't interested in wrestling aren't going to be interested in wrestling just because someone in a movie they like is wrestling. It doesn't happen often, and rarely does it justify what is likely a heftily inflated contract. What might happen is that fans of Batista who left when he left might tune back in, but even then it's not like he's bringing attitude era fans in like the Rock was. Appealing to the fans you have is far more important than desperately clinging to the notion that people are going to flock to your product because a wrestler who is getting a CGI makeover in a future movie with a talking raccoon is coming back. Ratings didn't skyrocket in the guest host era, and the boosts that come when the Rock returns can easily be attributed to Attitude Era fans coming back to see him. As for the twitter use, if he were an office employee complaining about office politics, sure. But he's not, he's a wrestler, a guy in a business where saying nothing = getting nowhere. He's a guy reaching out to his fanbase and fanning the flames of an angle that may be a little based in reality. That's not unprofessional in wrestling, especially since you can write it off as trying to push the ongoing angle with him. If he was being like the guy who said he'd go to TNA if he wasn't called up, then I could see the unprofessional comment, but expecting him to say nothing isn't realistic considering the business.

I want to say that I'm quitting. I lost interest after Wrestlemania last year, but Bryan at Summerslam pulled me back in so hard that I watched the PPV after a weekend spent without sleep at a convention. It got my attention and my money again, and has been dragging me by that hook up my nose for the past few months. Now, Bryan is the hottest thing going on, and is eating clean losses at the end of a feud that ran for three and a half months, which saw him only getting more over. That they can't even give him a win in his midcard filler feud because they have to build Bray up as Cena's Mania opponent is f***ing ridiculous.
In the face of what happened, I am 100% tuning in tomorrow. I want to walk away and be happier for it, but no way. I want to watch an entire three-hour Raw get viciously shat on by Bryan fans.
