Two questions. 1. How does Batista have crossover appeal? The dude was in some shitty direct to DVD movies. Daniel Bryan got shout outs on ESPN. 2. Who cares about his height? Will a guys height make you not buy the show? Is it ridiculously hard to believe that a small fighter could be skilled enough to fight larger fighters and win? 2. Yeah, it is. That's why legit fighting associations have weight classes. The 5 biggest weight differences in MMA history were all won by the smaller guys. It's difficult, not impossible.

They can still shoehorn Daniel Bryan into some sort of triple threat match. There are two-plus months until WrestleMania. Indeed they could. And there's still Elimination Chamber and plenty of episodes of Raw to get Daniel Bryan in the main event. Just sucks that they missed an easy opportunity here. Pretty much. The roof would've blown off the place if they gave Bryan the win.

If I was WWE and I was going to do this I would have Roman Reigns no where near the ring when number 30 happens, he's your big investment. Honestly, from my perspective, that was the PERFECT time to have Roman Reigns in the ring. Having him last until the final two against Batista, in front of this crowd, it was obvious that the fans were going to side with Reigns, the up-and-coming young gun as opposed to Batista, the washed-up part-timer back to make a quick buck. Notice how vocal the crowd was in their support for Reigns when it came down to the final two?

I too feel sorry for Cena and Orton. Their match tonight wasn't that bad at all, yet the fans were chanting for other wrestlers during the match, then we got "this is awful" and the final kick in the pods that was "we want Divas". Cena and Orton don't really deserve that (even though I'll admit to chuckling at it) because they're not to blame for it. Cena could have climbed to the roof of the arena and done a 1080 corkscrew splash onto Orton who is lying on a nest of tables that were covered in nails, glass and set on fire and the crowd would still have shit on it.

Seems to me this is what the E wants-at least the fans are actually passionate about something. Anything that ends with a "retweet this" hell, it's just more coverage for the E. More people will talk about this tomorrow, than possibly would have if the fans got what they wanted. That's what WM is for. The E knows what to give the fans when it comes to that. I think it's all part of their seemingly insane plan

It just hit me: what if Daniel Bryan was in the Royal Rumble...and was last eliminated by Batista.
Could you IMAGINE that crowd reaction?

On your second point, it's unreal that people still believe small guys aren't believable in combat or combat entertainment in the post HBK, Royce Gracie era. Not only that, but the two biggest sports draws the past ten years have been Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, two smaller guys. They've been fighting other guys in their weight class. Pacquiao won't be fighting one of the Klitchkos because he doesn't want to die.

Their match was slow and boring. A vociferously pro Bryan crowd, Cena vs Orton, ten minutes of restholds. I felt like they were either courting the reaction or more arrogant tone-deafness.

Gonna post this in here and re-post it in the Rumble thread: To people saying that they are done with this company, by all means, take a break. Start reading on Monday nights, take up a new hobby, discover something about yourself. Just get away from the product for a few months. I promise you this shit is not worth getting stressed over. It may seem hard if you watch wrestling all the time but it can be done. Trust me, when/if you start watching a few months from now, you'll feel a lot better. Honestly, I'm planning on it. Being a big sports and movie fan is a big help, because I'll have no problem finding a basketball/hockey game or pulling up a movie/TV show on Netflix instead. I'll still hang around the forum, so I can find out if they ever actually do anything with Bryan or not, and to find out if there's any more crowd trolling than there was tonight. I've taken breaks from wrestling before, but it was never hard for me. Usually I just got burnt out after a period of time. I was already heading there, but this is just the icing on the cake for me. Though I do appreciate the concern you have. I know a lot of people are angry and upset, and I completely understand. Sometimes you just need to focus on the bigger picture [/Nexus]. Wrestling isn't the end all be all, it's just a hobby that all of us enjoy (at least I hope so, otherwise why are you watching?). But it's not the end of the world if a guy I want to see succeed is being held back. Bad business (in this case) yes, but end of the world it isn't.

My theory? Because they can. There's no competition. They're like drug dealers. They know you really want to quit, but you're hooked. And they're the only dealer in town, so you're just going to have to come back and take their shitty product. There's a lot of reasons. I've always been under the impression that the WWE only wants the guys they created to matter. Even though Punk had a 380 some odd day WWE title reign, dude didn't even main event Wrestlemania that year. Two WWE created superstars (Rock and Cena) did. That very same night, Sheamus, their creation, beat Daniel Bryan in under 20 secs. Let me make one thing clear, I do believe the WWE LIKES Punk and Bryan. They've had world title reigns. They're given a ton of TV time. But NOT in the way they love Orton, Cena, Batista and other guys that went through their system. Those guys have all main evented Wrestlemania. They've been given opportunities even if the fans haven't been as receptive. Punk and Bryan are in the WWE's friendzone Perfectly put. Punk was WWE champ for 400 days but Cena was the main event. It was alright with the Rock because of who they are but when the main event feud is "Is Cena banging AJ" something is off..

Don't watch anymore. I know you want to, I do too. But if you're as annoyed with this blatant stupidity as I am, then make it noticable by no longer watching. Don't comment on it for the next couple of months.
This is about the Daniel Bryan thing by the way.

The only interesting thing I see coming from tonight is whether or not the reaction actually changes anything. I'm assuming no, but still.

I was all set and ready to pay for the network. I would have signed a two year contract if that's what they wanted. Now, f*** the network. I'm done. I'll still follow along with things on this board, but I'm not paying for anything, I'm not watching the shows, I'm not watching the repeats on Hulu. Nope, I'm done. Looks like I lost Magiconz bet.

I'm fine with Bryan not winning, I wish Punk would have won. I don't like that Batista won, it sucks, but I will always watch WWE. I like about 98% of what they do.
