Just a little note, comparison and such. Two guys who were "main eventers" a decade ago. One left to conquer UFC and was a legitimate sport star, the other was in some straight to DVD movies.
One of them did the job in their first match back, can you guess which one?

So, I'm not watching WWE for a while. Bryan winning the title was the only thing keeping me hanging on, but it's apparent now that that ain't happening.
Though I will probably re-watch those last few minutes of the Rumble on a loop once I find it. It was just hilarious to see a crowd go from being completely into a match to just shitting all over it within a few seconds.

Everyone crying out foul that Bryan wasn't in the event are either delusional or just blantantly looking for a reason to complain.
He said it outright, in the weeks leading up to the event and the one that preceded it directly - he was NOT going to be in the match.
I understand that people were hoping that it was a swerve, but it wasn't - and the idea should've been planted in from that point on...
Now Bats winning it sucks chode - no arguing that.
Only good thing to come out of this Rumble was Reigns reigning supreme.

Well if they weren't gonna do Shawn Michaels vs Daniel Bryan before at Mania, they have may to do it now just to calm everybody down.
That's about the only thing they can do to satiate the fans at this point.

I didn't really care that much heading into the PPV, because I figured they couldn't f*** it up that badly. I'm actually surprised by how annoyed I am at this.

It's not hyperbole at this point to say Daniel Bryan is legit Steve Austin 98" level of over right now. We're going to pretend to be interested in Batista v Orton for the world title? Why?

You know, I'm not one who believes the WWE are burying Bryan. I also understand that making it seem like they do only makes him more popular with the fans opposed to "The Machine". But there has to be a point where WWE gives them want they want. Bryan should have won the Royal Rumble. |

Taking away the Daniel Bryan aspect, I really don't understand why their main option besides that was bringing back a dude who hasn't wrestled for 4 years and was one of the main guys in an era that wasn't all that popular anyway to be in the main event of the biggest show of the year. Not only that but it's like they forgot he exited as a heel, but brought him back as a face before he won the crowd back. They should've known Del Rio wouldn't be able to give him any heat. |
