Scratch what I said about this episode being a top 10 contender... right now, it's a TOP 5 CONTENDER.
I mean, I didn't feel it as much as most others did, but it's great to have such a well-received episode like this.

On break, and now that the ep has aired...
New ship, even if not seen in the ep:
Coco Pommel and Cheese Sandwich.
Both originally shy, break out of their shells.

"Pinkie Pride"...gets a 5/10 from me (the lowest score I have ever given an MLP episode). What I liked about this episode: -Loved the background pony appearances and the little things that happenend in there (the filly designs in Cheese Sandwich's songs of Cheerilee, Bon Bon, Lyra, Colgate; that Lemon Hearts/Derpy interaction). Just little things that brought a smile to my face. Not to mention several Rarijack moments. -I again loved the shoutouts to previous episodes (especially seeing Appleloosa in the beginning). Like how they bring up continuity like this. -Pinkie was well-written throughout showing her as 3-dimensional character with a brain and not like an idiot, a child or a dog. She was definitely not the reason I see this episode as so low. What I didn't like about this episode: -People complain about Twilight being a Mary Sue and I will defend her. However, I have no problem with calling Cheese Sandwich a Gary Stu if I ever saw one. Is instantly loved by everyone? Check. Does nothing wrong? Check. Leaves at the end with everypony still adoring him? Check. That is what I personally think a Gary Stu would be. They should have made him more of a villain (they can still keep the redemption part later and him giving Pinkie Boneless) which would have made him more tolerable. As it stands, Cheese Sandwich is a Gary Stu for me. -What I really hated about this episode is how instantly everypony forgot about Pinkie as soon as Gary, I mean, Cheese arrived. Seriously, that aspect pissed me of so much that it is one of the major reasons this episode tanked so badly with me. Yeah, Pinkie is our favorite party pla...Oh look, there's a new party pony! Pinkie Who? I mean I could live with the others seeing how funny Cheese is, them asking Pinkie if it would be okay if he can co-host the party with her, them having differences leading to the goof-off etc.. That would have been better. But as it is, everypony instantly forgets about Pinkie's existance incl. HER FIVE BEST FRIENDS! I cannot even say how pissed I was at Twilight in that scene where she seemingly does not get that Pinkie is kinda sad. What a great friend Twilight is (and she is even one of my favorites for Pete's sake!) Sorry, fillies, but those apologies at the end cannot save you. I guess that redeems Pinkie's behaviour in "Wonderbolts Academy" since it does appear that her friends are so easy to forget about each other entirely. -I have nothing against musicals. But while I found the songs in "Magical Mystery Cure" memorable and beautiful, none of the songs in "Pinkie Pride" struck a chord with me. Maybe the Pinkie sad song will get a reply but the others were just "meh". And if your episode is a musical, that is a problem. -I found the gags with the CG rubber chicken and live-action Gummy OOP in MLP. That show should not have gags that belong in a Spongebob or Family Guy episode. So yeah, "Pinkie Pride" gets a 5/10 from me and my lowest score for an MLP episode so far (lower than MDW).

"Gary Stu" is not a charismatic name

This episode already contained lots of Rarijack...last week also...hmm, could that all have been a preparation for next week?
