Had a bit of time to process the episode.
I have to say it was a great episode. Cheese Sandwich was a perfect character for Weird Al to portray (Villain? Get the f*** outta here!). He played an important part of the episode, but wasn't the main focus. The story worked well. While the conflict did feel slightly forced with everyone seemingly ditching pinkie at the drop of a song, there is the implication that everyone (or at the very least Twilight) assumed it would be a team effort with Pinkie and Cheese. Just because everypony started paying attention to Cheese Sandwich doesn't automatically mean they immediately forgot about Pinkie. It has been previously established that Pinkie is one to quickly assume abandonment by her friends (Party of One, Wonderbolt Acacemy), so it all came together in the end. As a musical, the songs worked well. Nothing spectacular, but good. Some of my favorite parts were many of the call backs Pinkie had to her previous parties, especially her first one with her sudden long lost sister. And of course,there were all the visual gags.
I really can't say anything bad about this one. Overall, I'd say it's my favorite of the season so far.

I watched the movie so many times as a child but I never had any idea who that was (Al is virtually unknown in Germany). |
