Isn't that what he already did with his song though? He described the parties he threw in the past as well as other things he can bring to the table. Everypony was excited about all the new things they could see that they were just caught up in the moment. Also remember, everypony flocks to whoever is singing a happy, upbeat song, like they did with Pinkie.

Yeah, he sang about parties he did in the past and such, but this should have no bearance on Dashie's party (diff'rent tastes and all that). It would have been enough to get Dashie excited enough that Cheese should co-host the party with Pinkie instead of outright replacing her. The songs' effect on the townsfolk could have been the same (hearing a new twist gives new ideas instead of outright replacing the old one).
