Yeah, he sang about parties he did in the past and such, but this should have no bearance on Dashie's party (diff'rent tastes and all that). It would have been enough to get Dashie excited enough that Cheese should co-host the party with Pinkie instead of outright replacing her. The songs' effect on the townsfolk could have been the same (hearing a new twist gives new ideas instead of outright replacing the old one). Like I said, caught up in the moment. Sometimes people get so fascinated at the idea of variety that they temporarily forget what they already have. It's a cliched plot point (shut up) that I thought the writers handled well enough. The writers have in the past shown that they can use cliched plot points and give them a new twist, thus I expect them to do a little bit more than just using cliched plot points as they are. While I can excuse the townsfolk (they cannot even remember who saved their lives several times), that doesn't excuse her five best friends completely forgetting about her existance in favor of the new guy in town they barely know. And I already listed earlier some of the dialogue samples that made me gag. My scenario would have kept the basic idea without making the others look cruel and making Cheese look like the Lord and Saviour. |
