Have we already started to blame Batista, Cena or Orton? I'm selling torches. Why would anyone blame Cena? Cena made CM Punk, and they're each other's best natural rivals. And Orton? Come on. Batista? Maybe. But I doubt it. Punk said nothing of the sort in the Helwani interview. I think you're just trying to stir shit because you seem to have an irrational passive aggressive need to get certain digs in at certain guys because of obvious fan insecurities.

Every cause is being leapt upon and championed.
I find the "Batista gets the big spot and I don't" theory the most believable, but even there I'm not banking on it.
Punk must have his reasons. We just don't know them for sure.

I've got to say, to the people who really believe Punk is somehow justified in doing this, I really feel sorry for your employers if you really have the viewpoint that it's OK to just pick up and leave if you don't like how things are going at work.
Granted, anyone is free to quit or resign their job at any time, but it's a little different when you're under a contractual agreement to the company to work for a certain period of time. And it's also different when you have tens of thousands of fans who have paid money to watch you perform, only to find out you aren't actually going to be there because you didn't feel like it anymore.

Loyalty to Daniel Bryan? Unhappy with the direction of the company? Burnout? I'm sure it's far more than what's being speculated.

Maybe the guy was just burnt out and left for a while.
It doesn't have to be anything nefarious.

Someone stated prior that Punk was buddies with Dave, so if that's true, I don't think he'd walk out over Batista getting the Rumble win.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease in the WWE. If you're a main eventer your best bet is to cuss Vince out regularly and walk out every so often. Mega push will be incoming.

I think the most believable is either "They changed my angle, now I'm dropped down even further, I feel like shit, I don't feel motivated to keep killing myself for this at this moment" or legit concussion.

Dude's beat up, broken down, and burnt out.
If he needs to step away for a while (or for good), so be it.

It's probably been posted, but I don't feel like wading through 30 pages to check.

You can be friends with somebody and still believe they don't deserve to main event the top PPV of the year after being gone 4 years while you and your other friends bust their asses on the road on a nightly basis.

If it's a work, it's the absolute wrong time to try to pull it off, with Wrestlemania and the Network about to launch, there's no realistic way - especially with it being kept strictly to dirtsheet reporting - it can build or be of any benefit to the two big events. The thing is though nowadays dirtsheet reporting has this treackle down effect. We discuss it on places like this, then people start tweeting about it, then more casual fans latch on to it, then they tell their friends who aren't on Twitter whats going on, some of these people now go to Raw, in the queue they start talking about whats going on and even more people know and sooner or later a large chunk of the fanbase know about it.

Have to disagree with this to an extent. Any person anywhere has the absolute right to leave a job should they feel it's not what they should be doing. I love my job, but the day comes that it doesn't benefit me in the ways I need it to, be that emotionally, financially or whatever, it's so long, guys. No one should feel they *have* to work at a specific place if they don't want to. He owes no one anything on that front.

Didn't Punk take some time off last year? Why would he do it again so soon?

He should go to ROH and team up with Cheeseburger in a team called "Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger. No Coke,Pepsi."

It's a Wednesday, and Punk is one of the top trending Twitter thingamabobs. That has to send some sort of message.
