Personally, I can't begrudge Punk leaving (indeed, I applaud it), but he should maybe have at least offered to stick around a couple of weeks and get a proper write-out. Like, have him take the triple powerbomb and punt before getting fired or something, at least give his angle a payoff. Why? The only people that helps is the McMahons. The payoff you speak of would be forgotten within a week's TV by those of us who watch regularly. Its blatantly obvious that this company (Vince/HHH/Steph) have had their heads up their asses for YEARS now. The bland TV, the lack of new stars, the utterly ridiculous constant rehashing of angles, the list is endless. At this point, I want the shit to hit the fan and if Punk has to/wants to be the sacrificial lamb, so be it. The decision makers need a very real and heavy slap in the side of the head. if people can forget things like a major star being written off in a week then why shouldn't WWE rehash angles? New guys? Why do they need new guys? The fans barely remember anything this guy or that guy has done.

To be fair if i was in a company where the boss best Buddies and favorites kept getting all opportunities and big things.I would probably quit too. Is CM Punk one of those guys, because he's won Money in the Bank twice, is a two time heavyweight champion, and a two-time WWE champion, the second reign being for 434 days? I like Punk but he simply is not a guy that is constantly held back or anything. 434 day reign, marquee matches against Rock and Undertaker, only guy to constantly get a leg up in feuds with John Cena, just ran through The Shield 1-on-3. Yeah, they're really screwing him.

Someone needs to edit that promo into black and white with really shifty, suspicious music for the Self-Destruction of CM Punk hypothetical DVD.

Yeah but his buddies are in shape and didn't show up two weeks ago. Basically yeh. But suddenly,on the rumble and near wrestlemania suddenly Outlaws win the titles from nowhere for no reason, personally I think it's so the Usos can take the belts off a heel team

If I was Punk, I'd take my AJ and go home.

Yeah, they're really screwing him. Kind of a recent thing, though. From his first WHC win until MITB 2011, Punk got shafted in feuds a lot. Even SES ended up just being fodder for Big Show.

The theory of there even being any chance that Punk would get blackballed is the funniest thing that I've heard this week. Zero percent chance. I'd be shocked if they weren't trying to smooth things over with him right now. But yeah, sure, the ENTIRE industry is gonna collectively not book one of the biggest stars of this era because he got fed up with WWE.

lol it's been such a challenge for Batista to get over, and this won't help. Pretty much every article said it was because Big Dave was the one main eventing WM.

None of us now for sure what went down. I will say this. I have walked from a job before. It went a lot better than i expected. I was getting shafted on scheduling. Covering all the holes at all odd hours. Literally nobody else at my level and position ever had to work outside their scheduled hours. I volunteered for a few because I was a company guy, but they really took advantage. I told the boss I needed more regular hours my outside work life was going to hell. I was promised better hours. A month later I fill in after someone else quit and within a week I was back to wonkie schedule. I told them again. I got regular hours for a wekk then got the shifting schedule again. I came in and said I'd finish the schedule but I am done next week. They promised me a better schedule. I walked. This was when the job market was really really bad and I was scared but I just couldn't do it. I had saved money and after two weeks hadn't found a job. A friend from work called and said the owner really wanted to talk with me. I came in and got my job back and written guarantee of hours and a raise (I didn't ask for, I didn't want to set a precedent) and I got some stupid rules changed (we had appearance standards and one was facial hair limits, well I let it go while I was off and when they asked me if I wanted to come back I said I don't now I kinda like my beard, as a joke. They said oh ok we can allow those. No biggie.)
Point is I was ignored and taken for granted. I walked and they were worse off then I was afterwords and I gained a respect from the damn owner and an open dialogue with him. So, maybe this will turn out good for all like it did for me. I certainly hope so. Because sometimes the higher ups are insulated from the complaints of the lower workers.

But I don't think most people are saying he's been savagely mistreated. I think it's fair for a guy with those accolades to expect certain things. And I could see being frustrated that any main event level guy getting pushed aside fir Batista who out no work really into getting that spot since like 2010. So while your sarcasm is pointed I just wanted to give you a calm and rational take to see if we can take it easy.

If it turns out that the reason for him walking was because of WWE f***ing the talent over on their future PPV payouts because the Network, then him going home and leaving them in the lurch is 100% justified.

I do not think it is a work and honestly, I think CM Punk is just upset with the way the general booking was (not just on Daniel Bryan) and he needed to get out before he said or did something he would regret.

True. If it wound up being about WWE planning to screw over the roster and cut deep into their salaries, then he absolutely was right in just straight up walking out and more people should do it if they can afford to. Incidentally, if anyone else were to also up and quit, gut feeling is it'd be Ziggler.

If it was the other way, Vince and WWE would have come out and fired the guy. And don't think that wouldn't happen since Vince did fire Austin over his leaving.
