All I gotta say is: Cut 10,000 shoot promos. Never drew a dime. To be fair, HHH does just as many shoot-laden promos to make himself sound cool. It's just that no one is usually allowed to respond to them.

Maybe Lesnar and Heyman can turn face when they interrupt Batista/HHH/Orton to say, "I've got two initials and a word for you. "C.M. F'N Punk!"

Could Punk go to TNA? Would be a massive coup for them and would be a big FU to the WWE, lots of new talent to work with and perhaps he could be the guy to help them take it up another level. Given that he doesn't need the money, and the booking at TNA is if anything worse than it is at WWE, I would see him going back to ROH if he goes anywhere.

Either that or it will simply reinforce their preconceptions that sticking with "safe" guys like Cena is preferable to temperamental indie guys with rabid fanbases. Eh, I'd hesitate to say that Rome is burning. WWE's making lots of dirty, lovely money at the moment. Losing one guy isn't going to get them close to the "breaking point". Not even sort of close. Now, if Cena walked they'd go crazy. He puts food on their tables! Losing one guy won't kill them. Losing Cena wouldn't kill them. Thing is, bad mainstream press and a less than stellar relationship with several PPV providers, as well as a grand jury looking into homicide charges against a Hall of Famer weeks away from this year's induction? THAT can hurt them. DirecTV hits them with breach of contract? That's not chump change and McDevitt can't get them out of it. The guys who are coming back for paychecks, if they find out they're getting less than half of the PPV payoff they were expecting, how many will say "sure, I'm ok with that"? Now WWE could always just start cutting talent to make sure the big names get the pay amount they want. The payouts for the PPV's could be kept at the same level, cutting into the company's profits. The midcard means nothing, hasn't in over a decade, so just cycle in the NXT kids. Have the main event be 2004 redux, and they'll save money. If they need a bump just bring back Lashley, he's the only one they haven't used already.

As far as WWE...is Rome starting to burn here? A lot of shit is going wrong at a really inopportune time. The WWE is so ahead of every other wrestling company that they can survive stuff like this easily because fans will have an appetite for rassling. Grim thinking I know but the only way I see WWE really starting to collapse is if we get multiple deaths in short times to big stars. Something like the Krispen Wah situation but done multiple times might destroy most of Raw's viewership.

Screw Punk going to ROH or TNA, let's all Twitter message him to join us, here at the F.A.N. zone. The mods can offer him 2.5 million posts as a signing bonus. I'd give him 3 days before he gets banned.

wont happen, punk hates t.n.a. That and Punk is way too smart to hop on that sinking ship. He's much more likely to just retire or return to ROH. I can't lie, that's got me pretty excited. First Hero and AJ, now Punk? This could be a banging year for ROH. Punk won't go back to ROH. I'm sure he still loves the company but given how much ROH would pay him would it really be worth it to him given the state his body is probably in? I doubt it. If he did though, it would indeed be awesome. Punk vs. Steen. Punk vs. AJ in the first time in what? 10 years? Punk vs. Cole/Hero/Elgin/Any Japanese wrestlers that ROH bring in etc. Would be a hell of a lot of fun.

WWE need Punk way more than Punk needs the WWE.
They've dropped the ball big time.

Part of me wonders if this will be addressed in Colt's intro to this week's "Art of Wrestling" podcast, either directly or just a vague reference to what's going on. Hell, Punk has made appearances in the open of the show multiple times so I wonder if he'll give him the "exclusive interview" concerning this.

I think if anything hurts WWE, it's going to be if the Network winds up a failure. Which honestly, given the sort of numbers it needs to pull, I'd say is pretty damn likely. Especially given that all of the recent PPVs have been very badly received and they've actively pissed off a significant chunk of their fanbase at the moment.

If TNA was being booked today like it was in 2012 (Aries/Roode on top, Joe being pushed like a main eventer, a well booked BFG Series, quality wrestling matches every week, etc), then Punk still would not have gone there but I wouldn't have said there was a 0% chance. Now? Less than 0% chance. He wouldn't want to and TNA can't afford it.
As far as this situation, I'm biased. I worked for a Fortune 500 company for nearly 8 years and saw how big companies act. If they wanted to fire you, they wouldn't give you any notice. They'd tell security to escort you out of the building and that whatever you had left behind at your desk would be mailed to you. But yet if you wanted to leave them, you would have to give two weeks notice because god forbid they would have to scramble to replace you, when if the roles were reversed they wouldn't give two shits about how not having a job would effect your life.
So I'm on Punk's side here. He doesn't have to leave on good terms to find employment elsewhere. It's not like he's going to go on unemployment or anything. He apparently has money saved up and he left because he was miserable. Valid reasons to leave.
Those of you siding with the employer are not wrong, but I will side with Punk on this one since I have seen his side and been on his side before as far as how he feels about his job.

Dude's not exactly well-equipped for the anarchy that occurs here, given his reactions to Twitter.
