Vince is not the best at using telephones. Not sure if serious but in one of the interviews someone posted earlier Punk and Vince text each other regularly. Just fondly remembering the Million Dollar Give Away.

You know, one of the more creative things that WWE did when Austin walked was that magazine cover where they shop "Why?" on his What?shirt. I wonder what WWE would do in this case? Back then WWE actually seemed to give a shit. My guess is if anything, the Authority will bury Punk on the mic "Oh he left you" and thats at best. My guess is Vince doesnt allow his name to be uttered at all. I know Twitter is a miniscule example, but WWE unfollowing Punk is rather extraordinary to me. They dont even do that w/ guys they release.

Got to love how the wrestling fan spelled "Vice" wrong. No, no he didn't. He/She used the right one. Vice: A serious moral failing. An addiction, things like that Vise: Clamp or holding device.

No, it's like when Crockett and Tubbs had that alligator. I can't wait for Ryback to come out with a pastel shirt with it's collar popped up and a pet snake.

It's just so sad that this whole thing would be solved by Batista not returning or Batista getting the push he's received.
If I were Punk I'd demand to go over Triple H at WM and have Bryan go over Batista and Orton there too while having a 6+ month title reign. If they do that then yes, it'll be good. If not that then hey things aren't working out.

I call shenanigans. I do not doubt he would do this, but until it goes in a while, it's too close to the SS deal a few yrs ago. Same logic same complaints. Not calling it a work outright, but I'm unconvinced its legit

It does seem like a variety of reasons as to why he's heading off into the Pepsi colored sunset. If it's a matter of his health, general burnout and not being happy with his performances, I understand completely. Kudos to him not being like the prior generations and saving that cash.
It's his thing about the "part timers" that bugs me. Now I'm not making excuses for WWE here- the old guard does get good ratings, yes, but the WWE brand is now popular enough to where they could just run with their young talent entirely and still make plenty of money, so I don't think it's necessary to have Batista in the main event (at least not as the sole draw, he'd be a fine fit for a three-way).
But storming off a la Steve Austin because you're not getting to main event WrestleMania? Since when did this become such a slap in the face? Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I thought the ultimate dream for any wrestler was just to GO to WrestleMania and walk out the champion. Which you did (in a fairly underrated match, IMO), right before a major money match that more or less had to end the show, before going on to hold it for 434 days. Not to mention the other titles and accolades you racked up, an the further ones you properly were going to rack up had you just sucked it up. And I find it very hard to believe he has absolutely zero clout in the company at this stage in his career, given that only Cena is more protected than him (and in a few odd cases, he's gotten more protection in some angles).
I guess were we discussing Zack Ryder or Yoshi Tatsu I'd have a lot more empathy in this case, but like I said, there isn't much left for Punk to accomplish, and he's such a legend in the business to where that seems like a fairly minor thing IMO to get hung up on. So you're not happy with your job? Welcome to America.

I can't say I blame Punk for this. It's obvious that his one target left in his career is a main event of Wrestlemania, & it wasn't happening this year. A match with Kane would have been a huge waste of him, while the HHH match is better suited for Daniel Bryan, considering what they have built up since August of last year. I can understand his frustrations with people like Batista coming back & winning the Rumble too, when he (& most of the roster) spent the year worker there asses off for the chance to be considered for that spot, only for one of HHH's close friends returning to be given that spot with 11 minutes of work in 4 years. It's not exactly a morale boost. I hope he comes back one day. But I feel this is the best decision for him right now, especially if he's got the health issues that he's been talking about. He doesn't need to risk his health when he can easily be tossed aside & replaced by someone else in a heartbeat. I hope this wakes up the writers & bookers in WWE to show them the error of their ways. If a top talent like Punk will walk out because of how bad the direction is, there's potential for others too. Sometimes you just need someone to take a stand, & Punk has always been the type of guy to not deal with bullshit. Take a stand on the principle that "If I can't main event I'm gong to walk out on my contract?" At a time when clearly Daniel Bryan, and not Punk, is what the fans want? It's all guesswork and projection until Punk or someone tells us what the real issues are, but I believe it bothers him that Bryan has been drinking his milkshake -- he has become the fan favorite and the IWC favorite, the former indie star that people want to see at the top of the card. I have believed that has been growing for some time. Regardless of the reasoning, it comes off as selfish and self-serving on Punk's part if it's all about him. And I don't think Batista coming back into a top spot has anything to do with being HHH's friend. It's the same scenario as Rock and Lesnar, and I don't think they were in Hunter's inner circle. Whether WWE miscalculated on Batista's popularity and the demand for him -- they did IMO -- it's not a "Hunter's friend" thing, it's a "bring back someone who has been away that (WWE believes) people will clamor for" thing.

It's just extremely depressing to see the company **** up so bad that it causes one of it's massive stars to leave, especially that star being so passionate and wanting to help the industry so much.

I'm just waiting for the ironic return when Punk comes back in like 2 or 3 years as a part timer and headlines Wrestlemania.

Got to love how the wrestling fan spelled "Vice" wrong. I didn't think these were actual tweets from him when I first saw this post, I thought they were made up on one of those fake tweet creator things only to view Rybacks profile. I am shocked he referenced the Plunge for so so many reasons. Man Ryback is really owning twitter at the moment, I think we can officially call him the new TWITAH MACHINE now, sorry Bully.
