Hopefully they'll bring back Jeff Hardy to dress as CM Punk and mock him, while Matt Hardy sits in the corner impersonating Daniel Bryan until he eats his fake beard.

That's why I don't get why anyone wants this to be a work. It would be one of the stupidest works ever. I don't think people want it to be a work, by my reckoning people just think it is a work.

The only reason I hope this is a work is because that way we still have CM Punk on the WWE roster. Hes a big part of the show for me and Id hate to have him actually gone.

What if this is the new age version of working people, I mean how amazing would it be if we couldnt tell right from left, up from down, work from a shoot. We'll all be marks again! I want to believe it's real, just cause the guy needs a break. But if it's a work, then WWE will have gotten me REAL good. I am not ashamed if they did. This new form of kayfabe has been going on since at least 1997. Basically when WWF pulled back the curtain a bit was when they found new ways to work everyone. Alot of elements of the Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart rivalry was played up and exaggerated to work the boys and the internet fans. They have both outright admitted this on a recent DVD release Raven had a good line in a shoot interview once. "The so called Smart Marks are the easiest fans to work" The golden rule I live by as I said earlier in this thread is that at the end of the day Pro wrestling is a work. Assume everything on or off screen is a work unless there's overwhelming evidence that it isn't

You're not 'working' anyone unless in some way it makes you money, otherwise it's just a bunch of wrestlers doing things to get each other and their buddies off. Pointless.

Most of the fans ARE internet fans now. Granted, most of them are almost complete marks, but they are still exposed to the same news that smart fans have, they just have an inferior way of understanding/processing/scrutinizing it. Or in other words, this won't hit the average twitter people and facebook people the way that it hits the boards, but they'll still understand it well enough that they can, and will, react to it.

They have both outright admitted this on a recent DVD release I think working the other guys in the back could get to be kind of dangerous, ha. But that's cool, nevertheless. Talk about commitment to a story.

I think it's more than possible that it could be genuine now but then turn into a work later on and they'll use his real walkout to hype his storyline comeback.

Trying to keep positive about everything so I decided to watch some Billy Madison clips and an idea sparked in my head.
CM Punk: Yes, I will go back to WWE and achieve victory. No man will take the Wrestlemania mainevent, unless that man is me!
AJ Lee: My Punk, sweet Punk boy, I knew you would go back. No one can stop you if you try, don't I have a nice rack?
CM Punk: AJ, I thank you for beating the shit out of me. I see things so clearly now, I choose my destiny!
AJ Lee: Oh Punk, I knew you had it in ya!
*Daniel Bryan, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, Antonio Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Damien Sandow, Christian, Rey Mysterio, Big E Langston and a bunch of divas appear*
Superstars/Divas: We're here to help you Punk, get back in WWE to stay. You gotta work real hard and stick it out til Wrestlemania day!
Doink The Clown: Hey kids, it's me! I betcha thought that I was dead! But when I fell over I just broke my leg and got a hemorrhage in my head!
Everyone: There are obstacles in the way but together we shall overcome.
Kharma: OVERCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!
Everyone: Cause you can't break a spirit and you can't kill a dream. Do you have any more gum, more gum, more gum, more gum?
CM Punk: Do you have any more gum?

My Co-worker is going to to a house show in a month, he isn't really a watcher but liked wrestling as a kid. He started somewhat following wrestling so he could understand the show, problem is he believes everything on the dirt sheets its pretty funny.

They think they're insiders but don't really know how to separate the likely stuff from the utter bullshit. Not that anyone's perfect at that except for the actual sources themselves (and even then it can be spotty) but there's definitely a difference between fan groups.

Well if they're already marks, wouldn't they already be watching? If so...then what's the point? What good is a reaction if you already have their money? And if they're trying to get smart marks to watch, in my case I don't watch...this isn't the way to do it. To me, it's a lose lose. There's nothing to gain by purposely sabotaging yourself. Now, if they wanted to use their poor decisions to further what IS going on right now, I completely understand. But making an already bad product even worse just for the sake to get people talking is silly. It's like a plane crash getting media coverage isn't going to make me want to fly TWA. I think it's more than possible that it could be genuine now but then turn into a work later on and they'll use his real walkout to hype his storyline comeback. Which is perfectly fine. I would do the same thing. But I know how some people on here are going to react like; "Har har...told ya so!". I'm just anticipating the jumps in logic from people in how we all got worked.

You do not in any way look smart by calling this a work.

I didn't read the thread, just wondering if this is the break Punk should have taken after MITB 2011.
Two years too late? WWE's slow to adopt logic, what can I say?

There is a chance that Punk's leaving was legit and that he and WWE will reach an agreement to comeback through July before re working their relationship. If that happens does that make him leaving a work? I don't think it does.
