I think ill be in the minority here but does anyone else think Roman Reigns Superman punch should be his finisher over the spear?
Don't get me wrong his spear looks awesome and is probably one of the best since Goldbergs, however so many people have had the spear in the past whilst the superman punch looks awesome and is original.
The fact he had an awesome set up for the move on Monday solidified how much I love that move! The punch on the mat stance...followed with cocking his wrist like a shotgun...looked so awesome.
As I said I think ill be in the minority due to Reigns spear looking so devastating but anyone else agree with me?

I don't like punch finishers. I know the spear is a kind of striking move but at least it's still somewhat of a "move". The punch looks cool but his spear looks like it kills people.

The spear has been overplayed to death by this point. It seemed to be the go-to move assigned to inexperienced wrestlers who need a simple finisher to execute. Plus Edge's running hug just watered down the concept in general.
The superman punch is more original, looks great, and can be executed at anytime or on any opponent.

I don't like punch finishers at all, because it just feels like 'you spend the whole match hitting each other, why not just punch him immediately?'

I don't like punch finishers at all, because it just feels like 'you spend the whole match hitting each other, why not just punch him immediately?' Which makes the Superman Punch an exceptional change. Just like in MMA - it's not a move you'd normally attempt unless you KNOW it's gonna hit, lest you leave yourself off balance for a counter-attack. Thus, in kayfabe, it's a punch that wouldn't be utilized unless they knew their opponent was too worn down to move or counter it.

The Superman punch is an awesome finisher. Especially when he hits it in a situation where his is opponent is coming toward him while he's also flying toward them. Out of all of the "punch" finishers I've seen, it's the only one that's believable, and it works great as an "out-of-nowhere" move.
I'm sick of the spear. It worked for Goldberg, but for everyone else, to me, it just feels like, "eh, I guess I have to have some kind finisher."

God please use the Punch. His Spear is great, but I'm done with the Spear being the go-to "Kill everyone dead Move" at least for a few years.
Plus it'll be the only thing that'll maintain my interest when the inevitable Big Show vs Reigns feud pops up.

I like the Superman Punch, but no way should that be a finisher. Superstar's would look weak as hell, jobbing to a regular punch to the face.
And I'll always mark for a good spear, regardless of how often it gets used.

I think the Superman Punch would work just fine as a finisher. It requires one of two situations: the opponent is dazed and Reigns does the long setup by punching the mat first and gathering his strength, or the opponent is caught off guard and gets KO'ed out of nowhere. It's no different than the Sweet Chin Music or Bryan's running knee in that regard.
While I think Reigns does the spear better than anyone, the punch is more original and thus would make a better finisher.

It's all about the sell and the execution, of course, but I could certainly believe a guy of Roman's size and build jumping in the air and punching you square in the face could certainly knock you the f*** out. His Superman Punch looks tremendous and even the name is bad-ass. I do love the Spear as well, though. Tough choice.

Why not both? Having multiple finishers keeps things fresh, adds unpredictability. Plus they both look devastating as hell.

Spear weakens the opponent, while he is getting to his feet, RR does the lock and load taunt and nails the Superman punch. Crowd goes wild!

Superman punch. Its an easy move, and looks awesome. The spear is SO overdone by this point.

As great as it looks, I feel the Superman Punch is a better set up move for a Spear, than vice versa. Key thing to remember though is that he makes BOTH look devastating.

I dislike the spear, it's so overused. It's even worse when a guy who is 190lbs soaking wet uses it as a finisher.

I prefer the bunch because the spear has been done to death!

Neither. He should just win his opponents over with his charisma and good looks.
