Wow Thursday's look brutal...does the NFL have a participation rule for those games where every team gets a turn no matter how bad they are?
At least they are all division games so that's a plus

Yeah, bluemeii, I think the NFL does have a participation rule where every NFL rule gets at least one Thursday night game.

There are some good games, Jets at Patriots, Chargers at Broncos, Saints at Panthers, Cardinals at Rams and Chargers at Niners, all should be decent.

Looking at the schedule, the NFL has the Lions-Falcons game in London listed as 9;30am ET in Week 8, which means that game will be nationally televised on Fox.
Edit: NFL is also testing the moving games between networks concept.
Week 4 Panthers at Ravens game(normally would be on Fox) will be on CBS, Week 5 Bills at Lions(normally would go to CBS) will be on Fox, and Redskins at 49ers on CBS Week 12 instead of Fox.

The NFL is trying to drive up viewership with all of this flex scheduling of marquee match ups. One has to wonder how this affects the jobber teams, if at all. In the end, it might benefit all teams financially. Each team still will have their local broadcast deals but if new rules allows more marquee match-ups then future TV contracts will have more money in them.

I don't understand how the Broncos-Hawks game isn't on primetime. I mean, for God's sakes, the storyline(s) for that one writes itself!

Heard the guy that makes the schedule on NFL Radio this morning. Pretty interesting conversation but what stood out to me the most was the Niners could not have any Monday or Thursday games (other than Thanksgiving) because they have no parking for the new stadium other than the business and office parking in the area. That threw a huge wrench in the works for them.

Having a look at the Bears schedule, five of their games from Week 11 onwards are at home, including three in a row from Weeks 14-16. If there's a playoff push, that's a heck of a way to have one.

Can someone explain to me the CBS/NFL network simulcast? Is there going to be at least different announcers on NFL network or is it for all those people who get the NFL network but not CBS?

From what I understand, Nantz and Sims are announcing all the Thursday night games, even the ones later in the season that are just on the NFL Network. Just some synergy with CBS and NFL Network for some reason.

That threw a huge wrench in the works for them. Yeah it's going to be interesting to see how the parking situation goes this year. We don't have a huge dedicated lot in Santa Clara like we did at Candlestick. A lot of fans are bummed because it's up to the individual lots to allow tailgating or not. I know there is a tentative deal in place with the nearby golf course to use the course as a parking lot much like the Rose Bowl, but even that will have some disadvantages. My parents have a big RV and more than likely they'll use that when going to the games, but when I pry away a few games from their season tickets I'll probably take Amtrak from Sac because they will drop you right off in front of the stadium. It's cheaper than gas and paying for parking plus you can party all the way down there. It's about a 2-3 hour ride down.

Very, very early prediction for how the Broncos' season will go.
vs. Indy - Indy's a tough, young team that'll no doubt give the Broncos trouble as they did last season, but I think the home field advantage proves true for Denver: Broncos win.
vs. Kansas City - Kansas City is improving fast and making things hard on the AFC West, but as far as right now goes the Broncos are the better team: Broncos win.
@ Seattle - The homer in me says that the Broncos finally get revenge on the Hawks, but being that they retained the majority of their team and we're playing in their backyard, I think the Hawks win a game that'll be more competitive than the Super Bowl: Seahawks win.
BYE
vs. Arizona - Arizona's a team who's quickly got their act together to compete in the toughest division in football, but so long as the Denver secondary isn't battered by week 5 the Broncos take this: Broncos win.
@ New York - Ah, I can't wait for the 'Eric Decker vs. the Broncos' storyline for this. Broncos are the better team: Broncos win.
vs. San Fran - The Broncos face every single team in the NFC West this season; the toughest task a football team can have right now. I think the Broncos match up well with San Fran, but I think the Niners win: 49ers win.
vs. San Diego - San Diego seems to always make it tough on us, but we're still the better team: Broncos win.
@ New England - At New England again? Good lord. Always a great, tough match up when these two rivals match up, and had we not improved our secondary I'd give it to NE because of Gronk alone. However, because the FO has put so much emphasis on fixing the defense I have to give it to the Broncos: Broncos win.
@ Oakland - f*** the Raiders: Broncos win.
@ St. Louis - St. Louis has weapons and is a good team, but they're not nearly as scary as the NFC West Power Duo that is the Niners and the Hawks. The Broncos win this one pretty convincingly: Broncos win.
vs. Miami Dolphins - I don't foresee a way Denver loses this unless they shoot themselves in the foot; one of their favorite things to do in games they should win. Still, I'll give it to the boys in blue: Broncos win.
@ Kansas City - No matter how good or bad the Chiefs are, Arrowhead is still a tough place to play in and it always gives the Broncos trouble. It's just one of those things: Chiefs win.
@ Buffalo - I really like what Buffalo's doing lately, and I think in a few years they'll be legit, but not yet: Broncos win.
@ San Diego - Just like with Arrowhead, playing in San Diego gives the Broncos the fits. I'd love to see us sweep the Chargers because I hate Philip Rivers, but Chargers get it: Chargers win.
@ Cincinnati - I never know what to make of Cinci because they're so unpredictable when it comes to what Bengals team, and what Andy Dalton, you're going to get. For that reason I'll give it to the Broncos, but it could very easily go either way: Broncos win.
vs. Oakland - f*** the Raiders: Broncos win.
I've got them at 12-4 which will no doubt be enough to take the AFC West again unless the Chiefs come out and just run rampant on the rest of the league.

ESPN's Ed Werder stated on NFL Insiders Thursday that the Texans hope to trade down from No. 1 overall, and the Falcons are their "most likely partner."
ESPN's Ed Werder reported on NFL Insiders Thursday that the Buccaneers "would strongly consider" drafting Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel if he's available at the No. 7 overall pick.

Panthers exercised QB Cam Newton's fifth-year club option for 2015.
"Numerous league sources" tell CBS' Jason La Canfora the Falcons "remain very focused" on Jadeveon Clowney.

OK, I guess I will analyze the Colts' schedule
Sunday, 9/7 @ Denver
I think that this will be a tough one. The Colts defense in general will be better than they were last year, but right off the bat we will have a game that will make us fans miss Bethea. The other issue I have is that I still don't know how the Colts resolve their issues at center. Because of that, I will say that the home field advantage will be enough to get the W for the Broncos even though I don't think they will be as good as they were last season.
Record: 0-1
Monday, 9/15 PHILADELPHIA
Another one that is hard to gauge because I still have not seen enough of Nick Foles or how coaches respond to Chip Kelly's system after having a seasons' worth of tape. My inclination is to simply analyze trends. Last season the Colts either lost big or simply won the game if it was close. I think this could be close if the revamped linebacker corps can hold McCoy in check, so I give the Colts the win here.
Record: 1-1
Sunday, 9/21 @ Jacksonville
This is damned near a bye. This team has been such a hot mess for years that I swear that they are pulling a "Major League". Colts win.
Record: 2-1
Sunday, 9/28 TENNESSEE
This team is not as plagued as the Jags, but they are still years away from being a real threat. Home team wins.
Record: 3-1
Sunday, 10/5 BALTIMORE
Baltimore is going to need to rebuild. I respect Harbaugh. I respect the veterans on this team. I just don't think that they are a contender at this point. It would be a closer game at Baltimore, but it is a home game. Colts win.
Record: 4-1
Thursday, 10/9 @houston
This is a toughie, though you would not think it would be. The Texans D still should be a threat and I cannot guarantee the O-line is up to stopping those pass rushers. The Texans have talent in many positions on the offense, but I think that the lack of talent or experience at QB is what is going to be the difference. Colts win.
Record: 5-1
Sunday, 10/19 CINCINNATI
This is another tough one. The Bengals at their best is better than the Colts at their best, but they cannot seem to string enough games together to truly capitalize their talents. If this was a road game I would definitely give this to the Bengals. As it stands, I don't know. I think that the O-line will continue to be an issue and I since I am uncertain if Bethea's replacement will be up to the task, I still will give this one to the Bengals.
Record: 5-2
Sunday, 10/26 @ Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh is another team in dire need of rebuilding. If this was later in the season I would say that Heinz Field might still be a factor, but since it isn't I think that the Colts will be too much for the veterans of the Steelers. Colts win.
Record: 6-2
Monday, 11/3 @ny Giants
This could be a massive blowout if the Giants have not improved from last season. Even if they have, I don't see it being enough, especially since it isn't in December, the month that the Giants traditionally use the Konami Code to suddenly become dangerous. Colts win.
Record: 7-2
Sunday, 11/9 BYE WEEK
Sunday, 11/16 NEW ENGLAND
I think it all depends on if the Patriots new secondary is up to the task. Revis could be a major problem or prove to be human once he is no longer hungry. If he is up to it, I think that Luck will continue to have problems. If it was in NE I would favor Tom Terrific and his back-up dancers. As it is, I say it is a push. Let's flip a coin on it..........and George Washington says NE wins.
Record: 7-3
Sunday, 11/23 JACKSONVILLE
It is so nice when someone comes all the way from Florida to deliver fresh meat to devour. Colts win.
Record: 8-3
Sunday, 11/30 WASHINGTON
I think RG3 is rather talented. I also think that Snyder taking his side over the coach's side sets a dangerous precedent that will eat at the team's core in the long run. I think stability beats turmoil every time. Colts win.
Record: 9-3
Sunday, 12/7 @ Cleveland
The Colts get to visit the guy that they should have pursued to be their center (especially since it sounded like he really wanted to be a Colt). Still, the Browns are a long way away from being a contender. I think that the Colts will be in good form by this point, so they win.
Record: 10-3
Sunday, 12/14 HOUSTON
Still a tough team to crack, the new QB might be hitting his stride, and injuries can always be a factor this late in the season, but home field helps. I think the Colts win.
Record: 11-3
Sunday, 12/21 @ Dallas
Thank goodness this game is in December. The Cowboys might be talented enough to win normally but it will be during the traditional Cowboy collapse period. Colts win.
Record 12-3
Sunday, 12/28 @tennessee
I think the Colts win this to sweep their division.
Record: 13-3
Now, some of those games could go either way. Maybe the Broncos and the Patriots have not gotten their new players up to speed in their systems. Maybe Brian Hoyer really is a good QB and the Browns are good. Maybe the s***y Bengals show up. Maybe the Texans do get a QB that can win games. I don't see the Colts having a worse record than the 11-5 they had the last two seasons, but I would be surprised to see them be a #1 seed as well.
