Big mystery opponent for Ambrose. He's issued an open challenge...who will it be..??!??!
..oh the guy already announced as being on the show. And Mark Henry, of all people. "wooo". The crowd goes mild. What would Henry have done on that show were the open invitation but been issued seeing as we were already told he was scheduled to be on, earlier in the broadcast?
It was so disappointing for it to be Henry. He's just so....bleugh! There's nothing to (not of) him. Very overweight guy who does power moves, can't really talk, doesn't sell that well who only managed to accumulate so many years in the industry because of a 10 year contract he got given once upon a time that the person who offered it likely regretted less than six months into the deal.
Every so often they bring him out to be a big deal - he isn't. He isn't likeable enough to be a face and he isn't capable of playing a heel role with any great conviction.

He can't he does that deep-voiced big-guy generic mumble but I've never been sold on anything he does or is about to based on a promo.

Mark Henry is awesome. He just needs to stop smiling and start destroying again.

You're Wrong on so many levels. Henry is awesome when he's a badass destroying people. Hell he's awesome in general.

Best promo of last year:
I don't like to watch him wrestle, I don't like to see him on PPVs, I'm not a Mark Henry fan in general, but he's a great promo the past few years when he feels like it. THATS WHAT I DO!

I wanted him to win so we could have Big E vs Mark Henry at WM in a Unification match. And I usually hate the Idea of unification matches!

Mark Henry was awesome just a few years ago when he did the whole House of Pain run as a heel. The guy was on fire or a monster Badass heel. He sells just fine for a man his size and he looks fine. He always was a big guy, sure he may not wrestle like a Daniel Bryan or big man ablities of The Undertaker but he good enough. Most guys like him are not ring generals. Henry is known for big freakishly strong and his moves are high impacted. Henry was damn good going into his match against Cena last year.

But Lesnar does the strong-man thing so much better and what's terribly impressive about being strong or showing strength when pretty much everyone on the roster gives away 200lbs or more to you?

He was so on fire he even managed to make a Face Sheamus program not only tolerable but entertaining.
Needless to say the match was garbage but what are you gonna do? I can't see complaining about Henry when Big Show is around and constantly ruining things.

House of Pain THAT'S WHAT I DO! Mark Henry (oh and ECW champ w/ Tony Atlas) are the only versions of MArk Henry i've really liked. when he's face he's pretty much another Khali- big guy face who exists to show how strong/dominant current heel on the uptick can be by beating him. or like he was on RAW- the mystery opponnent to challange the brash heel champ. other than that i haven;t been interested in henry much.
also- good thing Ambrose had that open challenge or who knows how the returning Mark Henry would have made his return that week. (also ties into the "do they ever (ok 5-10% of the time they do) decide on the main event for the night before X number of guys show up in the ring for the openning segment?" category)

Trash talking wrecking machine badass Henry is great, smiling face Henry isn't too great. This is the problem. He turned face for absolutely no reason and it didn't benefit anything. He needs to be a wrecking crew and talk smack while he kills people. That's what he do!

If handled properly, Henry could have been made into a big deal. They didn't really use him well until his WHC run, which in my opinion was too little, too late. Other times when they came close was when Batista got injured just as they were starting to feud, or when Henry and Rodney Mack were a short-lived tag team before Henry got injured. People don't care about him now because he's sort of aimless.

I'd take 10 more years of Mark Henry over another month of The Big Show.

Henry has been great as a heel the last couple of years, but he looked really bad last night.

Henry has been great as a heel the last couple of years, but he looked really bad last night. He looked like Uncle Elmer with the beard and bald head.
