Henry has been great as a heel the last couple of years, but he looked really bad last night. He looked like Uncle Elmer with the beard and bald head. I was trying to place it, since he looked worse than Rick Ross. He also looked incredibly slow last night, like near Khali levels. Not sure if this means he's done, but...

Mark Henry has had his moments--and they've been great moments. However, he's not exactly the guy I would pick to pop the crowd as a mystery opponent.

Easily one of my favorites of the last 5 years.
I never thought I would say that even as late as say 07, but Mark is awesome.

Face Henry just sucks. The run of Hall of Pain Henry will go down as some of my favorite television I've ever seen them put on.

Also, him being unable to talk is straight up bullshit.
Opinion is one thing, and fine, but that part is just demonstrably false.

Against Orton back when he first came to Raw from ECW. The pop was glorious. I think the problem is he hasn't been the "OH SHIT! BUSINESS IS ABOUT TO PICK UP!" guy since he turned face. That Mark Henry gets a reaction.

I think they were anticipating Reigns surprising Ambrose and accepting. When they got something else, they didn't quite know how to react.
Go back to his 'Retirement' promo if you think the crowd doesn't care about Mark Henry.

Monsoon, you are so insightful as a poster and you contribute a lot to the forum but I feel like your views on talent are deliberately a reversal of everyone else's.
Obviously you are entitled to your opinions but it seems like you make posts that you know will be dismissed or piss people off.
You even seem to phrase it to annoy people. Most people here like Mark's promos and trash talk most and you say he 'can't talk' rather than 'I'm not a fan of his promos'?

Mark Henry is the finest trash talker of his generation!

Yeah, I was thinking the same. He may be the nicest man outside the ring, and by all accounts he is, but the man is born to play the pissed off, you can run but you cannot hide, neck breaking, wig splitting son of bitch in it. While that can be a face outside McMahonland, it doesn't work in McMahonland where faces are basically recreating the Shiny Happy People video

But Lesnar does the strong-man thing so much better and what's terribly impressive about being strong or showing strength when pretty much everyone on the roster gives away 200lbs or more to you? But he's not competing with Lesnar, he was competing for the U.S. Title. As far as midcard belts go, I'd say Henry is pretty noteworthy as a challenger.

a ball was dropped after that retirement promo. He should have destroyed Cena a have another run. But he's too injury prone so putting the belt on him is a waste of time. I still regret that Bryan and him hadn't a David vs Goliath feud leading to a WM match a few years ago.

They ruined his menacing persona by using him to make Brock look stronger for his feud with Fat Show.

Mark's been fantastic the last few years, but the injuries that put him out every few months are really taking the wind out of his sails. I can't blame people for not reacting much to his latest return, because with the pattern he's on, chances are he won't do much before having to take some more time off.

I feel like so much of Mark's momentum was fed uselessly to Brock Lesnar to build to a horrible match with Big Show. It really disappoints me.

Henry had a great in-ring run in '11-12. Also had a great match with Cena last year. If he wasn't injury prone then he could be having another classic heel run right now.

That probably would've happened but didn't Henry get injured during the RWTM and only come back a few weeks before Mania?
