Very excited about the movie.
Like the newer episodes better (production value, game descriptions/explanations), although they seem a little bit more sterile than the older ones.
Prefer his own characters like Shit Pickle and Nerdy Turd rather than ones like Bugs Bunny and Spider-Man.
Perfectly understandable that he sharply reduced new episodes to approx. 4 per year. Both for his own sake and to prevent the AVGN from getting too stale. I'd say there's about a 200-episode limit regardless how slow or fast he makes new episodes.
My favorites tend to be when he reviews entire consoles and/or more than one game in the same episode.
James Rolfe, out of character, seems like one of the coolest guys on the Internet.

I collect old consoles and stuff so I like him for the educational value. I'm also a huge movie buff and want to be a filmmaker so I like his non-AVGN stuff that has to do with that.

I'm the exact opposite, I prefer Spiderman and Bugs Bunny (the first one, anyway) to Nerdy Turd. Actually, I prefer anyone and anything over Nerdy Turd.
I LOVE his monster madness reviews! They've become my favorite part of Halloween!
Of all his Nerd episodes, I do find myself enjoying the informative episodes more...favorites include Nintendo Power Tribute, Double Vision, and Sexual Video Games.
I'm sad that he doesn't do the one episode a month schedule anymore, but considering his movie, his appearances at Cons, juggling his marriage, his new little baby, and his non-Nerd related stuff, I completely understand!
Definitely agree that James, out of character, seems like one of the coolest cats on the internet!

Honestly the characters he's created himself haven't been that great. That said I do get some laughs from the green glitch goblin guy.
And yeah his film and board game stuff is also great, and James seems like a standup guy. I would definitely like to kick it with him and buy him a Rolling Rock or two and just talk games and movies and shit.

AVGN was my gateway drug.
First, he helped my interest in retro games to skyrocket. I've always wanted to reclaim my old games, but his videos were the motivation I needed to get started. Second, his collaborations with Pat The NES Punk opened me up to Pat, himself, as well as Retroware TV and all the Youtubers from there..... now I regularly watch Pat, The Game Chasers, Gamester81, The Angry Joe Show, The Completionist, ProJared, etc,.... Third, he opened me up to a world of self-contained creativity.... never really looked at YouTube and the like as a legitimate means of self-published work. No idea why, but it just never dawned on me to use it in such a way until his videos... granted, the aforementioned Youtubers also helped in a big way, but without James.. I probably never would have been exposed to them, or at least it would've taken a lot longer.
Also, from all accounts, he seems like the coolest, most humble guy out there. In a lot of ways, he's like the Metallica of the current YouTube gaming community... most cite him as a huge influence, and he's put at a level that's above most of them.... but he never uses his influence in a negative way. I've seen many panels where he has shared the stage with other people and he just sits in the background, lets everyone else have their go, and will only chime in when necessary. It's like he doesn't believe his own hype and just wants to be one of the guys, which is awesome. He truly seems to be appreciative of his supporters, and is just thankful he gets to do what he loves to do for a living with no pretention.
.... on the other hand, I haven't been as excited about his new AVGN episodes as I have been in the past. It's not his fault, he's busy and he's covered SO many games and created SO many memes related to those games.. it's hard to find new gems. Either way, he's a guy who only deserves good fortune to come his way, in my opinion.

I like how thorough he is with the reviews. It almost feels like I've played the game already, even when I haven't, because he goes into so much detail. And they're funny episodes on top of all that.

Big supporter and I can't wait until the movie drops. I actually got into him fairly late, since his early stuff was coming out just when I was entering high school. If I had watched him then, I would have been over it by now so I guess that's a good thing.

I have been a fan of this guy for as long as I can remember. I use to religiously watch anything he uploads, now I don't really watch anything from him any more but I am now trying to catch every video he uploads for some nostalgia.
Oh yeah, real excited about the movie too. I'm sure it'll be great.

He's the only internet reviewer personality that I can tolerate and see any humor in. I mostly watch because he's very well-informed about what he reviews.

I don't care at all for his characters or skits, but when he's playing an awful game and freakin out about it (to a degree, up to a certain level it gets obnoxious), or when he's doing an informative thing like Castlevania or consoles, he's top notch.

I'm a fan. I'm not a fan of Nerdy Turdy, that might have been the worst review he's ever done.
I agree about his Castlevania series being awesome, in particular the last part. (Language warning)
But his masterpiece is without a doubt, Plumbers Don't Wear Ties. No skits, just him reacting to a shitty "game". (Language warning)

James's demonic Mario review thing is one of the greatest things on the Internet. MOTHERF*****SSSSSSS! MOTHERF*****SSSSSSSS! I still randomly burst into that sometimes. ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) Love the nerd. He's puerile but very fun and informative.

Big fan. He's an excellent reviewer, funny but with good criticisms. Plumber's Don't Wear Ties is his crowning achievement. That review is just fantastic.

I don't care much for the scat humour, but other than that his reviews are interesting and genuinely good to watch.
Plus from what I hear his seems like a pretty cool guy in person.
Doesn't seem to get the "I'm my own biggest fan" vibe I get from Doug Walker.

He's decent, I suppose. I've watched most of his series I don't really agree with them being in-depth. Most of the games are simple enough that there's not really much depth to take, so it often devolves into strung together expletives while he fails. There's nothing wrong with that if that's your thing, but it's not really my brand of humor, so I don't find him funny.
The stuff he does out of character is better. The Castlevania series was good, as was the Ghostbusters (the new one) review. Other than that, it's only interesting to me to see the terrible endings on most of these games.

I'm still a fan of the Angry Video Game Nerd but i'm a bigger fan of James Rolfe
Back in 2006/2007 I was all over anything to do with the Angry Video Game Nerd, these days I find the character hit and miss and videos are not the must see day of release watches that they once were for me.
I'm still a big fan of James Rolfe though, I still enjoy his out of character videos as much as I ever did. I look forward to these more than a new AVGN release. James still comes across as a grounded and down to earth guy who just happens to have an internet show with a huge following, I respect that because via youtube and other websites I've seen people who've not had half of his success who've changed drastically over the years.
He deserves all the success he's had and I'm sure will continue to have in years to come.

I like him a lot. Outside of Cinema Snob/Brad Jones, he's the only reviewer/personality/whatever I watch.
Like others have already said, I enjoy him more as himself, but the AVGN videos are still great. He's extremely likable and just comes across as an all-around decent guy. I don't think there's a single series I don't enjoy watching on his site. I'm very happy they added 'James and Mike Mondays' to the rotation.
