I was watching a "match" between Terry Funk and Moondog Spot on The Wrestling Classic where Funk convinces Moondog to not wrestle the match and the two walk towards the back only for Funk to attack Moondog and run back into the ring as if to get the win via count-out. However Moondog quickly comes back, pulls Funk out of the ring, brawls for a few seconds, gets into the ring and FUNK gets counted out. What doesn't make any sense to me is that there was no 10 count. Instead it was something like 3 seconds with no counting that I saw/heard. Did the rules for getting counted out used to be different?

With the overbooking of The Wrestling Classic, they probably didn't have time for a full 10-count.

Another thing I noticed about this show is that the ref had a white shirt with some kind of logo on it shaped like the state of Illinois. I assume this wasn't a WWF referee and that Illinois had some kind of wrestling commission that insisted they used their officials?

I believe until the mid 80s most of the officials were part of the athletic commission. I'm not positive of that but I remember hearing that back in the day. Not sure how that would work what with wrestling not being quite on the level though.
