Just a few more random ideas. Well, regarding the weapons that a participant would have at the start. It'll be randomly selected, and I was thinking a few of them won't be weapons. Like how in the novel one of them got a bulletproof vest instead of a weapon, that sort of thing. Aside from that, other non-weapon items could be some sort of map that tells the participant where they are in the map, and also points out the starting points of every other participant. An advantage but no weapons to defend with at the start.
Well, if you guys got suggestions for interesting stuff to use as a weapon, suggest away.

Depends what part of the world the island is in. But some basic stuff like a bow, a spear, etc. The ability to improvise weapons would be cool too.

On the subject of improvisation, whether its weapons or other stuff... I'd leave most of figuring out those parts to the participants when the game starts. Like, interacting with the surroundings and somesuch? I think on that part, some time would be consumed. Like interacting on the current space a participant is standing would reduce the amount of moves they could make in their current turn, or something.

If you want, I could host a small game (About 12 People, Maybe 16 Spaces) as an expiriment? I did a small version of it beginning of 2013 where everybody played a musician, however it stopped because I was working on my GED at the time. What I did was I had certain things guarentee like 1 definite kill or the ability to give their opponents a life or death choice, or even defensive things like Camoflauge, Bulletproof Vests, or Pot Lids where they had defensive abilities to hide but only for a certain amount of times before the weapon became useless on the island (to everyone). Also, the island itself I had it 5 by 5 in which case I Gave everyone I believe 5 Moves, where they can freely move north, south, east, or west, as long as they didn't bump into the danger zone. If 2 or more landed on the same spot, they fight, if a person is alone, then they are free that round or "hour" Like I said, those are some ideas, and I would love to run a small game like this again, especially in my Music Mafia Universe

One thing we can do is give each contestant a set of skills and a feat, akin to games like Dungeons and Dragons. It would help contestants to customize their characters a bit. Battle Royale and the Hunger Games featured characters with skills that set them apart from others: you had hackers in Battle Royale, as well as athletes that took part in various sports clubs at their school and you had Tributes trained in the use of a particular weapon or who could effectively scrounge for food or could swim when other contestants could not.
So, we could come up with a few relevant skills and abilities/feats that contestants could have. In terms of actual fighting, you could have people take marital arts, trap-making, poison use, sword fighting, among other things, while also giving them the option of choosing feats related to their bodies: greater physical toughness, cat-like grace, heavy hands, etc. You could do this for mental skills as well.

Hmm, that's a good idea Tyger.
I got busy with a few things last week so I wasn't able to post here but I'm definitely still planning this thing out.

Hmm, that's a good idea Tyger. I got busy with a few things last week so I wasn't able to post here but I'm definitely still planning this thing out. It's a fantastic idea for a game and, as the thread has shown so far, it will draw a lot of interest. It might be a little tricky to put together but there are plenty of ideas to go through. If you do end up doing skills and feats, I think it would be best to be fairly broad with them. Like, I don't think it would be necessary for someone to know how to use a gun but I wouldn't assume anyone could use a sword well, for example. I think general survival skills could be a good idea but, ultimately, the game is a fight to the end, last person standing, so the emphasis should be on combat and surviving that combat. Let me think about it for a bit and I'll come up with some weapon ideas. Everyone else should brainstorm too and we can come up with a list together.
