Were those legit people taken from the audience? It felt phony and I didnt like everyone in the same shirt. The high fives....the no motions when anyone approached. Real lame.
The opposite of the cool feel when he left the wyatts amd led the crowd from the top of the cage.
More like a sci fi convention.

From what I've read, they picked some people from the audience, took them to te back, gave them the D-Bry shirts, and had them go out there to the ring.
So yes, actual fans.

The old black man next to Bryan the whole time makes me think they actually pre-selected fans for this.
If they had been extras, they'd have ALL been overeager and way into it - but that one man, who started off very into it and by the end of the segment was leaning on the ropes doing a half-assed "damnation I'm exhausted" YES!, makes me think this could've been somewhat legit.
Sprinkling extras in? I could buy that.
Also, there was this group of fans outside the ring and near the commentators, about 6 or 7 of them. For some reason that group screams "real fans who are happy to be at ringside but perhaps too camera shy to be right up in the middle of it" to me. Cripes, part of me believes if I'd been out there THAT's where I'd be.

Judging what the dirtsheets say, actual fans were picked along with backstage members such as the set crew, caterers and such.

I've been floored by the amount of negativity that segment has received on here. It was far from perfect, and might not have even been the best segment on Raw, but it more than accomplished what was needed IMO. I enjoyed it.

So real audience members felt phony? The "no" chants when security approached was lame? Everyone wearing the same shirt was bad?
I almost hesitate to ask, but what wouldn't have felt phony? Actors all dressed differently not in unison or on the same page about this protest to get Bryan a match against HHH?

They were people from the audience. They led them all into the concourse and ten minutes later they came back wearing the Bryan shirts.

Perfect way for him to get his match with Hunter AND a title shot. They took everything that had been going on regarding Bryan and tried to incorporate it into the storyline. It felt really nice to have all of that be acknowledged and be the reason for Bryan going to Mania.

According to NEWZ. Some were real fans, and some were from the staff.

So did I and assuming Bryan hopefully emerges victorious, doubly or otherwise, at Mania it may rank as one of the most uplifting segments I've ever seen on any of the promotion's television shows . If nothing else it may be a company first in including actual fans, in-ring, into a storyline and considering how in the last few years the company has branded it's fanbase as a 'Universe' the idea behind the Yes movement made that feel legit.

They should've used the entire NXT roster.

They should've used the entire NXT roster. HHH would have still assumed they were fans....

I remember Mick Foley tweeting about how he saw someone from catering in the line up and that literally sucked the life out of the segment for people.
I didn't mind it personally, it justified the point that needed to be made and finally we're getting D-Bryan at Wrestlemania.

I didn't like the segment as it was going on, but once it became clear by the end of it the whole thing was an onscreen representation of what the actual situation's been like I warmed up to it. Rewatching it now and it's much stronger than I thought it was at first; still some flaws and it's goofy, like there only being two security guards, but it works.

Not to be coy, but you're saying that it was "far from perfect" and not even the best segment of the night, but you can't understand why there's negativity around it? I mean, I'm glad they did SOMETHING to put Bryan in the position he needed to be in for WM, but there's a difference between being happy with the outcome and seeing clear failings in the writing of how they got there. Which is where I'm kind of at.

Mick Foley mentioned on Twitter that the red-haired lady was someone from catering, which led me to believe that the YES fans were a mix of both backstage crew and actual fans.
