When the hell was Scootaloo acting like a brat? And yes, Sweetie Belle was being an unappreciative bitch. Like Luna pointed out, Sweetie Belle didn't have the whole story. Before the dream sequence I understood where she was coming from - she'd worked very hard on every aspect of the show and didn't want to have Rarity to do the costumes because it would overshadow all of her hard work. That makes a lot of sense to me. Sweetie Belle came to Rarity in the first place. She has no one to blame but herself. That's the biggest thing I didn't like about this episode. Cutie Mark Chronicles, That's when the hell And everyone gave her hell for that.

In fairness it's not difficult to see where Sweetie Belle gets the drama queen side from

No, but there has been.. Admitingly I wasn't being completely serious in my Sweetie Belle defending during the episode.
But working hard on a show only to feel you were overshadowed at that age, Yeah I kinda get it. You don't think straight at that age.

But Sweetie Belle had tried to make the costumes on her own at first - the only thing she did wrong was as Rarity at the last minute AND in the middle of another project. That's typical little sister (speaking as a little sister). Sweetie Belle knows just how good her sister is and didn't want to be overshadowed in the first place so she tried to do EVERYTHING herself. She got in over her head, yes, and was wrong to ask Rarity on such short notice. But, this was justified as the dresses overshadowed everything else Belle had worked so hard on doing. If the party was precedent (and she didn't know what happened until after all this went down) then Sweetie was partially right in trying to do it all herself. She was wrong to go to Rarity on short notice, that's the only issue I saw.

In the middle of a big project nonetheless. Speaking as an older sibling, I want to make sure everything's perfect when doing something for my younger sibling.

Another 8/10 from me. The dream sequences were well animated, nothing really stood out as horrible and the episode moved along at a nice clip with some good call backs to earlier episodes.

Sweetie Belle was mad because all of her other hard work (writing, directing, etc) was overshadowed. It was extremely generous of Rarity to help Sweetie Belle in the first place, I'll give you that. But Belle wanted to be recognized for her work but all anyone saw/remembered were the dresses. As a little sister, I'd rather go down in flames for everything I did than have one thing that my older sister do overshadow everything I worked hard to create. Did Belle over-react? Maybe. But she had precedent because she KNOWS how good her sister is at costuming, otherwise Rarity wouldn't have had the Sapphire Shores project in the first place.

Like I said, no one to blame but herself. She knows her sister is awesome at designing clothes, so it shouldn't be a surprise that she designed some awesome costumes. If she wanted to do everything herself, then why did she even go to Rarity in the first place? And I'd say intentionally sabotaging her sister's major project is one hell of an overreaction.
