10 like Sweetie Belle. He is just very big for his age.

And like I said, just because it fits within the concept of the story doesn't automatically make her in the right. It was all just one giant misunderstanding that's been brewing for so many years. It's a story about Sweetie Belle learning to appreciate what her sister did for her, so that was the entire point. She's not supposed to be completely right in the outset, otherwise it'd be a badly told lesson. Her motivation just has to make sense, and it does. It's not totally rational for her to blame Rarity, but she's tired of being upstaged by her sister, fueled by her sister up and leaving happily when she heard the dresses were a hit. It'd be a much worse story if Sweetie was totally right and Rarity did try to upstage her. It doesn't make her an unappreciative little bitch (and really, describing a 10 year old that way, even a fictional one, is incredibly harsh to me), it makes her an emotional kid who is desperately trying to figure out what she's good at only to be upstaged by her sister. That's why I don't get the criticism of the episode. If she was completely right, the lesson would be terrible. If she didn't get upset at her sister for being out-shined, then it'd be terrible writing of a 10 year old. So I'm not getting what the better story was supposed to be. Don't learn to appreciate what the older sister does? Don't do anything of substance and revert back to the generation of tea party scavenger hunts? You have to allow a character, especially an immature one, to have some faults here or there if you want to have a real show. You're not wrong in saying she wasn't right, and it's obvious that we don't agree on it, I just don't see the criticism of the story, especially when anytime a character seems to show a flaw an episode gets blasted for it.

Then again, if flashbacks taught us anything, it's that the background ponies are all ageless.

I would bet all those bitchy friends at her birthday party left Sweetie as soon as they got their cutie marks. Yeah, especially that good for nothing Star Hunter. Just how old is he anyway? He had a growth spurt, then Torchwood came a calling.... or was it the other way around...?

As I said, he has an incredible physique for a 10-year old.

For me it was a case of the ends not justifying the means. Sure Sweetie Belle learned a valuable lesson, but that doesn't change the fact that Rarity took time out of her busy schedule to do something nice for her sister and got completely blasted for it. Let's just say I've shared similar experiences.

Whoever is "right" depends on whether or not you're the elder or younger sibling Now if you'll excuse me, I've got an alicorn to recover...
