Well, that was... actually roughly what I expected from this episode from the premise alone. I liked it, and... Luna definitely deserves her Best Princess position right now. Nine.

and first watching of the episode
DAMN FINE CUP OF EPISODE THERE
excellent dream sequencing with luna guiding sweetie belle and VERY recognisable dream concepts used (and luna's usage of SUBLIMINABLE imagery too), and an actual story line that was GREAT in all it's aspects!
really did squeeze in a lot in those 22-odd minutes, and the whole pace felt really natural, the entrance into sapphire shore's studio was funny too!
will watch it again, along with last weeks in 720p ..... another very high scoring episode coming up from me!

You don't choose the characters, you just name the scenario
It's to late anyway, I've lost interest.

Awesome episode, my favorite princess is back. I don't know what more to say.
First of all we get the CMC perform and do a good job, but it is all off screen, so we get to see them when they mess up, but when they do something right, we don't, okay.
I thought Sweetie Belle went a little psychoic in this episode, first of all she asks Rarity to design costumes for her at the last minute, what is wrong with her. And Rarity does do that despite the last minute notice. And how does Sweetie Belle show her appreciation, she yells at her, that it is too good.
Sapphire Shores is she suppose to be a pony version of Beyonce?
Anyway, Sweetie Belle has a bad dream, and when I saw that cloud and the evil laughter, am I the only who thought for moment that was Nightmare Moon, than I quickly remembered same voice actress. That is Tabatha's evil voice. And than Princess Luna returns, awesome that is enough to make this episode for me.
The do a Wonderful Life or Christmas Carol parody, I don't know which. And we see how much Rarity does care for her sister.
And in the end, Sweetie Belle makes everything right, and Luna is a ninja, how can no pony detect her. Luna you are awesome, you are the best princess.
10 out of 10, because of Luna.

Are we sure Celestia's even still alive? I don't think we've seen her since the season premiere.

Okay, watched the episode, had a sprited debate, and Lapis is recovering nicely.... I give this episode a 10. The presentation of the story is very good because we get to see both the big sister and little sister perspective of what's really going on - two sisters who want to make each other happy. SB, deep down, still wants her sister to be successful but knows those are big shoes to fill. She gets in over her head and inconveniences Rarity to get the costumes cleaned up for a play that SB wrote, directed, starred, and included her friends. We don't get to see the play, but boy do we get to see the fixing complete replacement of the costumes, underlining how SB felt after the play where no one could think of anything else to say but "nice costumes". Overshadowed again, holding on to an old memory. Rarity meant well, and from her side she went above and beyond to make sure those costumes were the best they could be for the play - only the best for her little sister? Only the dresses were TOO good, leaving two flustered/frustrated ponies in bad spots. SB thinks it's on purpose (with precedent); Rarity doesn't feel she's done anything wrong and is actually a little too busy to dwell on it, adding to SB's frustration. What SB did next was yes, WRONG. But NOT out of character for a little sister (as a little sister, I've done worse over less!). Enter the dream, where Luna essentially scares SB into doing the right thing. Yes, "Scares". SB went to bed angry and would have likely woken up angry if not given an exaggerated, over-the-top reason why what she did was wrong. Luna's flair for the dramatic coupled with SB's genuine love for her sister grips the guilty conscience and SB knows she has to make it right. If I have any gripe about this episode is that the CMC do not see the issue (with asking Rarity despite her being busy, and why they have to go all the way to Canterlot if they're not going to meet Sapphire Shores.... maybe a slight carryover from "Twilight Time"?). Sapphire herself had a touch of eccentricity that added some gravitas to Luna's subliminal suggestions, giving SB even more reason to fix this and talk to her sister. Everyone happy in the end. Lesson? The truth is somewhere between all the views of those involved. (oh, and.... foal Star Hunter! )
