Apple Bloom vs. Sweetie Belle (first half: 1:3)

Apple Bloom needs some more wins to distance herself from the drop zone. But that is also sth Sweetie Belle needs. Will this put their friendship at a strain?

Apple Bloom: After havin' done dose 24-hour trainin' sessions, ah'll bet mah team will be ready to face Sweetie Belle all right. No problem at all!

Sweetie Belle: Kindness will be the key to success and I will show it with my victory today!


Carrot Top vs. Fluttershy (first half: 1:0)

Again two teams who desperately want out of the lower ranking regions. But will Carrot Top or the Shyster save herself?

Carrot Top: After the hiccup last week, I am sure my vegetarian diet plan will come through today again. It should be no hassle against the last in the rankings.

Fluttershy: Oh, the last few wins were so exciting...I want to do it again...without hurting anypony, of course...


Octavia vs. Rarity (first half: 2:0)

Now we have a duel where Octavia wants to keep tabs on the Euro League places while Rarity wants to save her team from the drop zone. Who will prevail?

Octavia: After a well-received recital of classical orchestra, my team shall be ready to earn another victory as you shall see.

Rarity: My new sports dresses have already proven their worth. And they will continue so in this game.


Applejack vs. Princess Cadance (first half: 3:2)

The same as above: Euro League aspirant vs. drop zone avoider. Who will get closer to their goal?

Applejack: Ah ain't givin' up on dem rankings! And mah team shouldn' as well. Dey will show today what stuff dey're made out of!

Princess Cadance: My lovely team will prove their worth today. My hubby Shining gave me some useful tips that I can use to my team's advantage. The results your will soon see.


Rainbow Dash vs. Derpy Hooves (first half: 1:1)

Third verse same as the first: Will Rainbow Dash hold on to her Euro League place or will Derpy get a step out of the dropzone?

Rainbow Dash: So, after some more 24-hour training sessions, my lazy excuse for a team won't have any excuse for not winning today!

Derpy Hooves: I want a rainbow-colored muffin today...*sniffles*


Twilight Sparkle vs. Vinyl Scratch (first half: 3:0)

No. 1 vs. No.2: Will Twilight Sparkle recover from her first loss or will Vinyl further damage her armor?

Twilight Sparkle *madly grinning*: Don't worry...that last week was just pure luck...you can be assured it won't happen again...Heheheh...

Hell, I don't even necessarily think Daring Don't deserves to be where it is, and I hate that Daring Do is a real pony and her adventures are things that really happened. Seriously, there was something cool about a world full of fantastical locations and magical creatures still having a series of fictional books about going on an adventure. I even liked the idea that Twilight's Mom was the writer of the books.

That being said, it's not nearly as bad as I first acted like it was. Power Ponies is still bullshit.

I feel the Last Roundup absolutely deserves it's place

outside of "OMG DERPY" It was a genuinely awesome episode.

But ofcourse now matter how much I try to explain why I liked the episode all I'm going to get is "No you only like it because of "OMG DERPY""

...alright, let me make something clear. I do not doubt that right now, you feel that it's a genuinely great episode. That's fine. I respect that.

But.

That is two years after the fact, when all of the hype and excitement has faded away. Two years ago, all anybody gave a shit about in that episode was Derpy. We ate through threads like a bad parody of Celestia eats through cakes, so people's opinions were riding really ****ing high. I even felt the same way about the episode at the time. You know what changed? The hype died down for me.

Can I make my point any clearer?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Trade Ya will be an ensemble episode. I'm honestly expecting Twilight might either get her key here (and not realize it), or the others will lose their keys and have to get them back somehow.

I was more thinking she buys it from a convenience stand. Or... well, anything else. Because it's money, and (presumably) nopony knows it's special. The other keys all make sense on some level to be treated as special (the rainbow thread, the Wonderbolt badge from Spitfire, Boneless, the flower that Sea Breeze gave to Fluttershy), but... it's still just a coin. Let's just hope Big Mac or Apple Bloom didn't borrow it, am I right? =P

Regarding that latest EG video, to paraphrase the NC from his He-Man/She-Ra Christmas Special review:

"I love how the transformations aren't even a big deal anymore. Rarity could be doing the dishes and be like 'Hey Fluttershy, when you get a chance, could you...*Fluttershy transforms*...ok, never mind.'"

I am kind of surprised that of these preview videos we've seen thus far, nobody is surprised to see them spontaneously transform. Like... they're seriously not reacting to it at all. And somebody should have by now.

This is the third one, right? We've had Vinyl, Dash, and Fluttershy... did I miss one?

You know, can I just say that I kinda wish Pinkie would go straight maned again? Not for any real reason you'd expect, I just really like the long, straight mane on her. They seem to be actively avoiding it this season (with both Pinkie Pride and Maud Pie having her mane deflate, but not to the extreme levels of Party Of One), and while I get why ("Very classy."), I do miss it.

I agree with to an extent that yes a lot of people got behind it mainly cause of Derpy.

However I still stand that outside of that I felt it was a really good episode, arguably one of season 2's best, even without Derpy.

I'm with you that the whole OMG DERPY is annoying.

If you just didn't think the episode was all that then that's fine.

Sleepless in Ponyville is an episode that is highly praised here that I didn't think was all that.

But yeah Derpy or no Derpy, still love the ep.
