Went to see Cap 2, and decided to catch Noah also, they took the name of the movies from above the door, so you only know what theater number to go to if you buy the ticket. So you have to randomly enter theaters or cross reference start times. Times is hard FAN

I haven't movie hopped in years. I once saw 4 different movies in one day after only paying for the first one. Great times.

I was a Cinema Manager for ten years. I kind of wish I still was so when people ask me why cinema food is so expensive, I can point to you and say "Because of people like him!"

I probably only go see a movie like once every two years. I figure since I'm already there I might as well make it worth my time. 12 bucks for 90 minutes of entertainment is a rippoff in my book.

So because you only go every couple of years, it excuses you breaking the law? To be fair, screen jumpers were never that big an issue at my cinema. I've had to kick people out for a hell of a lot worse than that. People who have snuck into a film don't tend to kick up much of a fuss when they're found out.

It is a crappy thing to do to break the law and theater jump- but being perfectly fair, as another former theater worker- you know as well as I do that claiming ticket prices are too high because of theater jumpers is also exaggerating (the theater has to play every film that they're showing, at its movie time- no matter how many or how few people are in the theater...even if that "how few" is "no one went." As long as it's not a sellout and the screen jumper doesn't make a mess in their seat, it's really imperceptible.

Is it wrong to buy a ticket for one movie and opt for another instead?
Like I left Spy Kids 3 to see Freddy vs Jason after getting over half way there.

Where the hell do you have to pay 12 bucks for a movie? I paid $7.50 to see CA:TWS, and that was on opening day. I'm not knocking you at all. If I had to come out of pocket twelve bucks a movie, I might movie hop too, but the highest I've seen here in Michigan is about $11, and that's for IMAX 3D.

Is that an actual law or just theater policy? Even if that's a law it's one of those laws like speeding or cutting off the tag of a mattress. As long as it isn't harming another person who gives a shit? I doubt the big movie studio is missing my 12 bucks every 2 yeats.

Then you're lucky dude.Standard is like 11-12 for an evening and like 8 for matinee here in Southern California.I saw Cap 2 at 8pm on Thursday night, the day before the official release and paid 15 a ticket.

As someone who put seven years working at a theatre, this sounds like a organizational clusterf*** waiting to happen.

You pay to see 1 movie, but you go see a couple of more movies for free. As for speeding, that's a law because of safety. You've got the other drivers to look out for. You're flying around at 50 to 60 in a 35, that's a danger to other drivers.

I hardly ever movie hop anymore, mostly because after I am done with the movie, I just feel like taking off. Personally, I am an avid moviegoer, so I don't mind actually paying for my tickets depending on the times, though I am wondering why the sudden boost in admission prices. Last time I went to see something was a matinee showing of "Divergent" and I paid for both my friend and myself. Before that, I saw "Sabotage," but I had a free ticket, so I really didn't pay anything. I felt tempted to something else.
There will be a time when I do this again, but I just need to see what else is there that I feel that I don't want to pay for a ticket to see.

I've never theater jumped. Outside my local theater, I've only been to "bigger" theaters 3-4 times.
My Local only has one screen. Sure, movies take longer to get to my local, but 6 dollar tickets and 2 dollar lrg pop and 2.50 lrg popcorn is worth taking longer to see a movie.

My local cinema costs £3.50 a ticket on Tuesdays and £2.80 on Wednesdays. Movie jumping then would be less than acceptable. The cinema is also a dilapidated piece of crap with 4 screens, but it's my dilapidated piece of crap that I love.

Cinema food prices are so high because Cinema chains are greedy bastards and because although people complain about the cost, a lot of them still buy it.

In my section of Queens, NY, movie hopping has been severely reduced by the fact that all the seats are now fully reclining, meaning we can lie down while watching the movie with no obstructed view. This of course now means that seats have to be reserved when buying a ticket. If anyone movie hops in my theater, they better hope that no one has a ticket with their seat number on it.

I've never movie hopped, honestly the thought never really even occurred to me.
Only reason why is, I'm so not a movie guy, it takes one hell of a movie for me to even get to a theater.... and chances are, there aren't any others playing I'm even remotely interested in at the time.
I could definitely understand doing it though.
