You know who I think would do pretty damn good taking over? Left field choice, no doubt...
Tom Bergeron. He's leaving his primary gig, AFV soon. So why not?

I am sad now. I hope he finds something else. I wonder if he was forced out or if this is his choice after getting passed over for The Late Show.

This is very sad to me. Craig is someone I've always really loved. Not only is he unique in his humor, but he's also so open, honest and real. His eulogies to his parents are some of the most moving tv I've ever seen, and stuff like his Desmond Tutu show were compelling TV. The man is one of kind and I've laughed my ass off many a time at him. There will never be another one like him. Letterman and Ferguson are both going to be gone soon and that's depressing.

Letterman bothers me not, but Craig, man, that is so sad to me.

I'd like for them to try out different people like they did the last time. It made things interesting.

He'd better get to interview Capaldi about Doctor Who before the end.

Was it Britney or Miley that he was real in his opening monologue about his drinking? And can someone find the video?

Was it Britney or Miley that he was real in his opening monologue about his drinking? And can someone find the video? Britney years ago when she basically lost her mind. Craig's been my favorite late night host for years now, but things like this are why I have a shit ton of respect for him, as well. I know nothing's sacred in comedy, but I think it's admirable when a comedian can refrain from going for the low hanging fruit; and in '07 Britney was the lowest hanging fruit in pop culture.

That sucks, he was my favourite. I even got him to read a couple of my emails on the air.

As I understand it, his deal was with Letterman's production company Worldwide Pants. Whenever his contract was up he just go to them and get a renewel and a raise. This was the first time he'd be negotiating with CBS itself and they had no interest in giving him either.
On the flip side it was written into his contract that he automatically gets The Late Show if Letterman steps down. Should CBS veto this, which they did, Ferguson gets 6-10 million for being passed over. So either way he's riding off into the sunset in a gold plated helicopter.

I watch both Craig and Chelsea Lately and it's just weird to think in 2015, there won't be either for me to turn on.

It's too bad, I think he was a breath of fresh air. I honestly can't fault him for wanting to move on, especially if he was never going to be given a chance to move up
