Clearly they should get Jon Stewart As happy as I am for Colbert, I felt kind of bad for Jon Stewart (or as bad as one can feel for a millionaire with an Emmy dominating TV show). Just because he at one point had a holding deal from Worldwide Pants and nothing came from it (directly, although Worldwide Pants giving Kilborn the Late, Late Show opened up TDS for Stewart). But you know there must be a little bit of bitterness over being leapfrogged by Colbert when at one point he seemed to be an heir appearent. I never really watched Ferguson. I'm more of a Conan guy, so when they went head to head with each other I never really watched him. And Conan is my default late night talk show (well him and Stewart/Colbert), that being said I barely watch late night talk shows anymore because I find the format to be so damn stale. Although I do love Ferguson's monologue style. He actually does a monologue instead of stringing together a bunch of topical jokes under the guise of "so what's in the news today?" Letterman got passed over for Leno. Conan only hosted The Tonight Show for seven months. Ferguson got passed over for Colbert. Seth Myers is too close in age to Fallon to really be an heir appearent. So I guess the idea of the 12:35 host being the "Prince of Wales" to the 11:35's "King of England" is basically bullshit, with Jimmy Fallon being the only appearent exception.
