I don't know about the rest of you, but I personally can't wait for the months of bitching, whining and moaning intelligent discourse about how the show will be ruined forever and become the "Twilight Sparkle And Friends Show", just like last season, no matter what happens.

After that sorta breakdown I had this week, I am now in that place where it doesn't matter to me what everypony else says.
The most important thing to me is that I like Alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle and I have not a problem with it.

Tell you what, it gave me one hell of a dark comic idea... Like, some pony is in mortal danger, and Twilight Sparkle, the only one around, sees this and is about to save them... but then she remembers "I'm NOT ALLOWED to save anyone by myself because it makes everyone else look bad apparently" and she just leaves the other pony to die or something.

Not including the season opener.
Twilights really only had 2 episodes, Testing 1-2-3 is debatable but point is she hasn't really hogged the season at all really ¬.¬

She didn't really do much in Twilight Time, either... and in both that episode and Testing 1-2-3, she was more focused on teaching ponies than anything. I mean, she did pull some spells out of nowhere a few times, but even then I'm pretty damn forgiving about it considering she's a) got access to a whole new library full of spell books, and b) is the Element of Magic and it's her freaking special talent. I'd be proclaiming horse shit if Rarity was doing it (without first being possessed by an evil magic spell given to her by a moron), just like I'm sure Twilight would be called out if she suddenly became an amazing fashion designer or good with animals. |

Twilight still played a reasonable role in "Three's a crowd" so I still consider it a Twilight episode The others as said are debatable but eh.. Point is this Season didn't end up being "Twilight and 5 other Ponies" like others said it would ------------------------------------ Anyway work time for me ¬.¬ (f*** you boat) .. Enjoy (or don't) the Finale I will avoid these threads until I've seen it for myself, no doubt we will be 40 or so pages (possibly more) into the next thread by the time I get back But once I've seen it I will be back to give you all my humbly esteemed opinion which I know you all eagerly wait for ;D Have fun |

The main reason why I was so miffed back when "It Ain't Easy Being Breezy" aired was that I thought LC was criticizing the very idea that Twilight could perform such a spell when she did so a few times already, before I learnt he criticized more the "just happened to read that in a book I just found".
If Twilight just said "I know a spell that could help us", I think that point of the Breezy episode would not be critiqued so harshly.

Finale day is here, a most wonderful day indeed and I won't be able to catch it live due to the fact I'm going to be pulling in some volunteer hours at the Ottawa Comic-Con. Maybe I can convince some of the cosplayers or pony toy vendors to act out the episode for me. |

The main reason why I was so miffed back when "It Ain't Easy Being Breezy" aired was that I thought LC was criticizing the very idea that Twilight could perform such a spell when she did so a few times already, before I learnt he criticized more the "just happened to read that in a book I just found". If Twilight just said "I know a spell that could help us", I think that point of the Breezy episode would not be critiqued so harshly. I honestly hate "It Aint Easy Being Breezies" for a Number of Reasons, but that was one of them.
Its not that Twilight COULDN'T perform the spell, it's that it just came out of nowhere and conveniently has the power to change everyones appearance
It was contrived for the plot, nothing more. If it was a spell they showed her learning maybe even a few episodes prior, heck, if they BUILT a whole episode around it, because it had enough to be it's own episode, I wouldn't have minded, but nope, it was a Plot Spell, and I HATE those.

If she didn't have said it that she just found it in a spellbook at the royal sisters castle and just did it, it would not have been a problem because 1.) it was seen in previous episodes ("Feeling Pinkie Keen", "The Best Night Ever", "Too Many Pinkie Pies") that she can do spells to change appearances and 2.) a transformation spell is the type of spell that was done by any magic character in any form of fiction ever so TWilight should also be able to do it. |
