I don't follow the logic of "if you didn't want to be famous, you shouldn't have gotten into this field!" Let's take just some generic person who loves music and wants to perform songs for large groups of people. That is his dream in life. But let's say he's also introverted and shy, has a hard time dealing with people at times, and would be bothered if lots of people approached him in public. Should he really look at that potential problem and go "shit, better not pursue my dream"? No, that would be ridiculous. ![](http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/140126201516-49-grammys-red-carpet---daft-punk-horizontal-gallery.jpg) ![](http://cdn.mos.musicradar.com/images/features/unsung-les-paul-legends/buckethead-corbis-630-80.jpg)

Well don't wrestle in the biggest global wrestling company in the world. No matter where you are on the card, you're going to be famous if you join WWE. I give him no sympathy whatsoever, Phil Brooks needs to go move to Walden Pond if he doesn't want to be bothered. There's a pretty big difference between just being famous and being stalked, though. Being a celebrity doesn't give anyone free reign to follow you wherever you go, or camp out at your house just to see you. Even if you're the biggest CM Punk fan in the world, doing that stuff is still pretty dickish imo. Of course I don't want him to be stalked and obsessively followed. Nobody deserves that. But as far as fans wanting to see him, ask for autographs, it's the price of fame. Don't want to do any of that? Don't be famous.

Those of you who are angry at CM Punk for not liking an aspect of his jobs - how do you manage to be wrestling fans, when you obviously dislike MANY, if not most aspects of being a pro wresting fan? A lot of this board is just people bitching about everything, from what happens on a wrestling show, to in this case, bitching about what wrestlers talk to their friends about. If you think people shouldn't partake in something unless they enjoy 100% of the aspects of it, maybe you could do us a favor and stop watching wrestling and stop posting here? (It's worth a shot). This thread is unbelievable. And I really don't like CM Punk. I find him hugely overrated and boring. I think what it comes down to is jealousy. When people are jealous of someone else's life, they can get offended if that other person has the NERVE to express something like this, even if it's to a friend! So Punk isn't allowed to express any negative emotions or frustration, even to his own friends, but the people criticizing him are free to continue to whine and complain about this and everything else. Because Punk has more than them, so he shouldn't complain. Well, there are people in the world who have less than any poster here. So, by your logic, you shouldn't complain either. This Is exactly how I feel! Sorry but people need to get off Punk's jock. Its not like he himself posted that article

There are more pressing matters in the world than a douchebag millionaire getting free Easter candy shoved into his mail slot.
Not that I'm expecting maturity from a grown man nearing 40 who looks like he shops at Hot Topic.

Punk OPENLY pushed and pushed and pushed to be a TOP guy in an industry that is known for it's insanely hardcore fans. That right there is it. And why it's so annoying when you read stories about him being such a dick to fans. He whined so bad about how he's not a top guy, and when he got the responsibility, he whined more and then quit. After being an asshole to fans, even assaulting one. Guy got his money, that's all that mattered.

He looks normal enough to me. Besides, he hasnt even done anything since leaving.

The stalker apologia is, well, it is what it is. I'm surprised that's even allowed given the rules against wishing harm against people. I mean saying he's asking to be stalked and have his privacy invaded at all hours because he's a celebrity, I think that falls under at least passively endorsing harm at the very least. I bet the people espousing it are cool dudes.

It's one thing to have no sympathy for celebrities' lack of privacy when they're out in public (since you know, it's public) although I have no clue why people bother to bug Punk no matter how big of a fan you might be considering the guy has said that he usually has a hoodie on and head phones when he's in airport terminals and stuff like that. I wouldn't have a problem approaching someone famous but I wouldn't when they're obviously acting like a turtle in it's shell or when they're trying to eat. Are people really not that good with obvious social cues? I don't care if they chose the career path that made them famous, if they're not at the arena/concert hall/music club/comedy club or on set then they're not putting on a damn show! I would love to meet Punk since I am a fan of the guy, but I'd only approach him if say he looked willing to take in social interaction (i.e. he had his head up and not wearing headphones to drown me out) so I can give him a quick "Hey, you're that guy from that thing!" (which I think is the maximum he'd be willing to put up with before growing impatient).
But when you get people coming to your home, your private sanctuary. We're you don't have to worry about "being on" for anyone. He's supposed to put up with that shit just because people recognize him from wrestling on TV? I still don't get how people can congregate around his dumpster (I mean really, how little self respect do you have to hang out by the dude's trash?), yet Punk is the asshole in this situation?

Punk has said many times on record that it bothers him when fans don't show him basic human respect. When did he said he hates any and all fan interaction? It seems Punk hating all fans is something that some people want to be true, not something that is backed up by anything that Punk has said or done.

Yeah, this is all just shitty behavior. Nothing wrong with the intentions behind giving him candy, but it still wasn't appropriate to do. Don't go to someone's house uninvited with intent to get a look at them. That's just creepy.

She didn't say what he was retired from! Considering his reputation, and the rumour that him and AJ have gotten engaged, it could be retirement from man-whoring.
