It could've been much better for the Rangers, but it seriously could've been a lot worse. They weren't seen as a team that could go this far, but they proved a lot of people wrong. This team has a bright future and I'm hoping that this is a sign that this team will win a cup very, very soon.
Refs still suck though.

The Kings may not actually play hockey until the playoffs come along, but why fix what ain't broken with 2 cups in 3 seasons. Not bad, Kings. Not bad. Its not how you start, its how you finish. Idt this team took games off. We had a great start but a stagnant offense in December/January. It wasn't til Gaborik came along after the Olympic break that the offense and team took off. Late in the year you can we settled a bit, but we won when it mattered most. Thank You. I couldn't have said it better myself. The Kings had a mediocre month of October(but then again, when don't they?), got hot in November/early December and the had their usual in-season cooling off period in December though early February. Just like in 2012, when we got Carter and youngsters (at the time) in King/Nolan in the line-up, the team was rejuvinated and went on that dominating run leading into and through the playoffs. Obviously, this time around it was a struggle, but getting Gaborik and then cementing Pearson/Toffoli in the line-up gave this team that boost they needed. Not to mention having leadership like Brown, Kopitar, Doughty, Stoll, Richards, Carter, Williams, etc gave this team the confidence and resolve that was seen all throughout the playoffs. It can be very frustrating watching the Kings during the regular season sometimes, but I'd rather it be this way than the opposite(looking at you Pittsburgh. No offense Pens fans.) Now, the hard part of resigning Gaborik and choosing between resigning Mitchell/Greene begins. Come on Dean, bring back Gabbo!

Refs still suck though. but whats next? we have the pieces but not the centerpiece (Has to be a skater, not Henrik) We have a kid in the minors named Anthony Duclair who is supposed to be great, you can't count on a prospect. I think Richards goes, and we have to see if their is a market for either Girsrdi or Staal, because they honestly are replaceable in the right deal. My older brother is campaigining for them to talk to Winnepeg about Evander Kane, but idk why he thinks he is easily attainable. Free Agency doesn't look to strong, but I would be intrigued by bringing back Gabby(If we have the cap), as he will no longer have to be the guy. Other people that intrigue me as good fits are Stastny and perhaps Moulson, but idk what the cap situation looks like. A lot will be depended on if we buy out Richards, and I want them to hold on to Stralman as well

I doubt 38 Mitchell would get more then he's making right now unless he decides to sign on a fringe team and Greene was injury plagued the last two seasons it's a hard case for him to get more. Plus I doubt Gaborik would get more then he's making right now considering he's been on 3 teams the past two seasons. Also the salary cap is increasing as well.

The irony there is that Pittsburgh's 1 Cup came as a 4 seed. From 1999-2011, they were the only non top 3 seed to win the Cup) and they were never a top 2 seed in all but 3 years of the Crosby era. Since 1995, the Penguins, '95 Devils, and Kings x2 are the only Cup champs that were not a 1/2/3 seed.

That Hawks cartoon is so accurate. A single goal robbed a near-sure repeat.

As sad as I am that the Kings eliminated the Hawks. I look forward to hopefully a yearly Hawks/Kings playoff rivalry.

Iiro Pakarinen to Edmonton. Played decently enough at the World Championships. Might be lacking a bit on the skating side of things, but is a hard worker, who knows how to use his frame. Decent wrist shot as well.

Decent wrist shot as well. How do you think he'll do? At the moment, at most the third line. Maybe AHL for a season and then a serious push towards challenging for a spot in the NHL squad. A tad slow skater right now, so he must work on that during the off-season.

And three Sather contracts have been bought out now. Dude is pretty underrated in drafting and professional scouting but horrible when it comes to signing big name free agents. Him signing Gomez and then trading him is the prime example of best/worst GM ever. I hope Edmonton signs Brad Richards though.
But this is good for the Rangers since this opens up spots for their younger guys to take over and cap space to sign some more key pieces. Anyways how long does Nash have till he gets bought out? I'd say after this season he's done. Most overrated player ever

He starts out on an awful team where he has little support, then moves on to a loaded team where superstars go to put up lesser numbers. He never got the chance to develop properly.

Thanks for everything, Brad. I remember two years ago after we traded for Mike Richards, hoping that Dean would have gotten Brad as well. I guess it shows what I know and I'm glad we avoided that bullet.

I don't agree with this at all. He was bred and became a star under Tortorella in Tampa where he had Vinny and MSL as teammates. The guy won a Conn Smythe at age 24 with a great Tampa team. Yes, he was wasted in Dallas for a few years but I pin that more on the Stars organization than I do Brad Richards.

Outside of Hiller and Miller I don't think we will see any massive overpaid free agent contracts this summer since it seems most buyouts victims are from players who were the top free agents of a very weak free agent class. Or how the trade return of a player with a horrible contract is always terrible. David Clarkson (LOL) would of never got that big of a payday any other offseason since last years free agency class was by far the weakest class ever. Like for f*** sakes David Clarkson was in the top 5 of biggest names in free agency that year.
