Due to the situation in Ottawa, the Leafs/Senators game tonight has been postponed. Probably a good idea.

Why do the Oilers give up playing hockey in the third period every game every year? Holy shit this is embarrassing. I'm still shocked Scrivens signed with Edmonton last year. You think that 59 shot game would of scared him off for good. This is what this third period feels like. Exactly like that game

So the Penguins lost at home to the Flyers, who 24 hours earlier had been humbled by the Blackhawks. That's the NHL for you, I guess...

Is it too early to talk about how awful the Hurricanes are?

Is it too early to talk about how awful the Hurricanes are? Isn't your starting center Riley Nash right now*? If so, my condolences. *Note: Riley is a pretty good 2nd/3rd liner. A 1st line center he is not, though.

Holy shit are the Canes bad. Down 5-0 to the Flames of all teams?! The Flames have been playing gritty, badass hockey. They have hung in with and beaten some damn good teams. Very few teams are built to deal with their grit. Aint no shame it a broken, soft team losing to a team who beats you up.

Jonathan Quick's shutout tonight is his 33rd, setting the new franchise record, previously held by Rogie Vachon.
Also, if the 'Canes keep playing like this, then rest assured, we will hear the "Eric Staal to the Leafs" rumours all year long.

And now the Nashville Predators are the only team in the NHL without a loss in regulation.

Plus they have a reputation of having the most intense practices with Giordano being the most intense captain in hockey. They really remind me of the 90's - early 2000's Oilers with all their grit and heart despite being such a bad team on paper

Oh, God! Tonight's a matchup between the NHL's two worst teams in Carolina and Edmonton.
Which one will suck the least?

I don't think anybody would go if this game was in Raleigh. I say this not as a slight at Hurricanes fans. I don't think anybody in the USA would want to go to that game.

With that lineup from Carolina. There is a realistic chance it might be the highest scoring game in Raleigh this season. It could easily be a 9-2 game for Carolina. With a 6 point night from Riley Nash to continue the former Oiler (sort off) that beats the Oilers badly curse. Can't wait for Sam Gagners second 8 point night in Rexall this season.
